Andrew, good suggestions. Blue is always a hazard on clear winter days. |

Thanks Stephen. Back in my younger years I had a pathologist friend who liked to winter camp over the New Year holidays. On one such trip with him it got to 30 below zero when I crawled out of the frosted tent on the Canadian/Minnesota border. The way to get warm in such a situation is to put on the skis and move vigorously for a half hour. I used to take a copy of Jack London's stories with me to read at the campfire after dinner.
Now, in my retirement years I have forgone winter camping. |

Karen, to me this is a beautiful mono abstraction. However, I can't see a ram's head. Oh, yes I can by going back and really examining it. If you want to concentrate on the ram's head, could you de-emphasize the background so the head stands out? As Alison did, I think I need to examine the image to understand it. But I may be too literal rather than having free imagination. |

Well, I think you and that 15 year old kid did a wonderful job making a composted image! Isn't it wonderful the way younger generations pick up computer imaging.
I think the background the two of you really worked with really enhances the two models. I also am working with the challenges of composting - you have really worked well to get the separate images blended in.
Dorinda had a good suggestion and your final image/background hits the mark! |

Jamie, isn't it fun to break the rules and be creative! Having the still, reflective water in the foreground adds a dimension of solitude which would be lost if you cropped in. Having lots of sky is what the west is about. Nice job! |

Prakhar, this is a beautiful capture of birds that we do not see in the United States. You have good catch lights in the eyes of both birds.
Now I wonder if you cropped in to the left hand bird and cloned out what was left of the right hand bird, would the image become more powerful. |

I like this image! But what if you cropped in tightly to get the full force and view of the stream of water? It would have more dramatic impact.
Now that I have read Alison's comments and seen your redo, I think it is stronger. |

Good comments Alison. Yes, I should have shot some slow speed images to capture sense of motion in the legs. I recently did that with a figure skating competition but didn't get the speed right. I will have to try again varying the speed to find the right sense of motion.
Thanks for the comments. |

Kathy, your suggestion to correct the skin tones is right on. I should have worked on it. Lighting - well it all was overhead in the same arena so I'm not sure what I could have done. |

Everything you did works - the twirl, the dark background, the blue color instead of red, and the replication of the branch to make a snowflake.
How about having some soft, abstract background to have more in the image? |

Sue, wonderfully conceived and carried out! Your composting is flawless and really works. Having said that I now notice that the floor beneath Trixie is different from the floor under the tree. To me that isn't a flaw so just forget I mentioned it. I like that the background is hazy which adds a dreamy quality. Perhaps the wavy floor lines add to the dreamy quality. |

Kathy, your image is truly out of this world and a work of fantasy. To me I would like the white moon smaller but the overall image is great! It is a fantasy world.
I really like the back and forth dialogue that you and Brad have had which brings in all sorts of new ideas. I suggested to Brad and suggest to you also to Google Swedish photographer Erik Johansson who is being really creative. |

Brad, nicely done composite. I'm not sure the connection between the farming industry and bees comes through. But you have a wonderful idea of connecting ideas or objects which I would enjoy seeing more of.
By the way, Google Swedish photographer Erik Johansson,is working on creative ideas. His work is giving me new ideas. |
