Curtis, this is a very tranquil image of a woodland pool in your native Oregon. I like it very much. Each of us is different but I think that if I were doing it I would lighten the image to be able to see more detail in the background. I'm looking forward to more of your Oregon landscapes. |

Jamie, what a wonderful image and what a wonderful remembrance of your birthday! It is obvious that this was taken at sunset.
Each photographer is different but if I were doing this, I would lighten the image and reduce the contrast so there would be some detail in the foreground. Also Andrew taught me a trick (which you probably know) to put a stroke, a white border around the image so that the black of the image doesn't blend into the black background of the window. If you use Photoshop, you can put a stroke around your image.
Here are the changes I would do.

Bai, this is another one of your excellent night shots! You really do capture the mood of cities at night. I have no suggestions other than the blades of grass in the lower left. To give depth of field, you could have included a little more of them so they would stand out. But if you didn't want to accent the depth of field, you could have cloned them out. I look forward to more of your landscapes. |

I think this is a great job of post processing making the image clear, sharp, and uncluttered. If you had not mentioned it, I would not have noticed that the stern was slightly soft. Nice image! |
