40 Feb 17 Reply Susan, thanks for your thoughtful and helpful comments which I will try except for cropping out some of the sky. To me the sky signifies the great openness of Lake Superior on which our town house is 200 feet from the shore where this was taken. Feb 21st

40 Feb 17 Comment Jamie, this really captures the solitude and beauty of nature. It has been some time since I have been on White Sands National Monument but I do recall the footprint problems which you have dodged. I did get on the dunes close to dusk when the low sun cast interesting long shadows.

The top of the image, blue probably from the sky. Could you have walked up the dune a little and captured the rim of mountains?
