18 Jan 17 Comment Andrew, Topaz Glow really works on this image. It almost looks like a woodcut. Jan 21st

40 Jan 17 Reply Bai, the round and rectangular shapes don't have a picture meaning. I was trying to jazz up an ordinary picture and learn a new layering technique. The sunlight I probably can't put more detail in as the pixels will be empty but I could play with the brightness of the rocks. Jan 24th
40 Jan 17 Reply Jamie, as this is 200 yards from our home I will redo it including the whole branch.
Thanks, Henry

40 Jan 17 Reply Hi Susan,

All of your suggestions have merit. And I laughed at your comment that Ansel Adams and Mondrian did a gig together. I wanted to try your suggestions but at the moment can't find the original layered file to do the changes. When I do find it, I will send a corrected file. Thanks for the suggestions.

40 Jan 17 Comment Judi, I would like to walk this path in the Japanese Garden. I think this is a great image and have no suggestions to make! Jan 21st
40 Jan 17 Comment Jamie, this has design elements imparted by the parallel leaf lines and then the more indistinct curving veins within the leaf itself. It is great, it is simple with the shadow of the flower blossom, and the almost monotone green coloration. What would I do differently? Not much but maybe crop more closely so the flower blossom (which I thought was a insect) is in the lower right of the image as though it were moving toward the center of the image. Jan 21st
40 Jan 17 Comment Ah Bai, you are the expert with night scenes. The location with the reflective pond in the foreground and the laser light show image overlay are wonderful thoughtful additions. The bulb mode captured the trajectory of the fireworks. I imagine you had to experiment with different settings to get this great result.

I have no suggestions but Susan's suggestion to crop the bottom 1/6th might have some merit.

40 Jan 17 Comment Susan, I like this capture of the ambiance of Amsterdam, the tower, the buildings, and the bikers. The diagonal bridge that the bikers are on leads one's eye into the image. A personal preference that I would do would be to lighten slightly the bikers so that they are more visible. I would also lighten the buildings just a touch so there would be some detail that the viewer could explore. Great image!

Bai has some great suggestions.

40 Jan 17 Comment Great image Andrew, lots of action close up. If you could tone down the figures in the background and maybe use a vignette technique to darken the edges, it would draw one's eye more to the man and the cow.
Having read the comments of the others, I would agree with their suggestions. But never the less, this image has great impact.
