I've thought of that - perhaps for September ;) |

I don't much like it either and I really hate the blue colour but overall, I guess it's different. Agree with Gunter about the composition - back to the drawing board! |

Jim, I like the expressionist effect. I see you wanted to minimise the effect of the boat in the foreground. I kind of agree with Gunter about the wall at the back which I like but not the bit beyond. So I took the liberty (hope you don't mind) of taking your image rotating it -5deg and then re-cropping. Then put it through Topaz Expressionism at about 40% to leave some detail in the foreground. A bit quick/rough and ready - what do you think? |

It looks a bit like a photocopy of a colour print and the effect might work better if it was just back and white missing out the muddy mid-tones, but that's just me. |

Yes, maybe the background is just too busy. Like the wire and pliers though. |

I think the brightness of the two guard rails detracts - they catch the eye too much and I would be tempted to clone them out completely. On second thoughts the silks are more colourful and interesting, maybe just zoom in on the back horse riders perhaps ignoring the front runner. |

Nice job, this is very attractive. The frame really pulls it together. I can't suggest an improvements |

Is this better? I have also cloned out the two mooring ropes on the right. |

Well captured, these birds are hard to take. Unusual wing pose but it grabs the attention. I would be tempted to crop some off the top and a touch off the bottom to make it more rectangular. |

Yes, well seen and nicely taken. Good treatment in post really improves the colouration which makes an attractive image. I like Don's edit though. Have you tried to boost the detail in the church spire? |

Lovely to have wildlife in your garden (although perhaps not if they eat your cultivated plants). Well seen and taken. I think your second version is better. I would be tempted to tidy up the right hand side right at the edge (easy to clone out) to remove the red stalk and the yellow flowers right on the perimeter. But that's just me being picky. |

Well seen and taken. The processing of the blacks and greys looks fine to me. It's a really atmospheric image. I do notice that the top corners are a little vignetted - is this deliberate or were you using a lens hood? Have you thought about cropping the bottom and right hand side so that the pylon girders are right into the two bottom corners. Just an idea. |
