Nice treatment which works well. But I like the mono original very much too. Nothing else to say, well done. |

I like this. I feel that the softness of the top right hand corner detracts a bit. To be honest I am not keen on frames but that's me. I agree a thinner, less prominent frame might be worth trying. |

Gruesome but very clever, agree better to clone out the chin. |

Thanks, not sure myself about mono vs colour. |

Some of these street statues give opportunities which you have grasped. Interesting treatment which works, I agree that this is a better crop. |

Great capture. I agree with Martin's and Don's comments. I think although the background is a bit of a mess it might be better lightened a touch. |

Yes, I thought the reflections were nice - you could selectively lighten the bottom of the picture. |

Nice rust areas in the colour version. I like both but prefer the mono one. I would consider burning in the left hand side to match the right as the bright area catches my eye too much in the mono picture. But good shot. |

You've cut out the tip of the blue wing on the right hand side so I prefer Lin's crop. Difficulty with these pictures is getting a good background and I think it's a bit messy here, perhaps better clone out or the blur the figures and the "A" board. |

Nice capture, could you post the original colour version too, also share the cameras settings and the location where it was shot?
The foreground looks a bit soft to me. I agree with the increase in contrast that Don suggested. I wondered about cloning out the bubbles in the centre too. |

Good attempt at something different. It's really difficult to get a clear sky, there is a straight line in the middle which could a plane or satellite. Unfortunate you had tripod problems - you have done good to take this off your car hood.
I think you have a similar colour cast problem with Auto WB as Lin. I took the liberty of processing this to Auto WB, straightening it (assuming the trees at the bottom are vertical), removing the red light on the right hand side and decreasing the exposure by one and a half stops. Which I think looks more natural but that's personal (you may hate it). What do you think? |

I like the idea and it's always good to try a new technique. It's a striking picture and I didn't think it had been Photo Shopped. To my eye there is a purple colour cast, possibly because the camera was set on Auto WB (which is fine) but best to compensate for this in post. I nearly always use Auto WB in the camera and then set to Auto WB in Lightroom (i.e. not As Shot). The moon is usually white or pale yellow I took the liberty of adding a lot of green to correct (you may disagree of course). Another point is the camera is pointing slightly upwards and the bottom of the fountain has been cut off. I agree with Julie about darkening or cloning out the bright lights in the trees. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the comments. I did wonder about a little crop in the left hand side. No, I hadn't thought of > to mono. Food for thought. I shot with an Olympus EM OMD1 mk11 with a 300mm plus a 1.4x convertor, so 420mm with 2x conversion factor. It's an OK combo. Fortunately the heron was quite close to the hide. |
