18 Jun 22 Comment Thanks everyone, I'll give this another go with the suggestions. Jun 25th
18 Jun 22 Comment This was taken with the camera pointing down and I think the image would benefit from being straightened before going through the filter treatment. I agree with Mike about the light but would also suggest filling in more of the window panes with another colour instead of the current off-white as these grab my eye too much. Just a suggestion. 18 Jun 22 Comment Unusual processing - it looks a lot of work. I think the eyes would work better if they were in pairs rather than single eyes. Jun 23rd
18 Jun 22 Comment Neat result, I like this treatment and have no better suggestions. Jun 23rd
18 Jun 22 Comment A very striking image which really grabs me. I like the processing which is very effective and I am grateful for the ideas here. There isn't anything I would change. Jun 23rd

40 Jun 22 Reply The Historic England website says: "Garden statue. Probably mid C18. Sandstone ashlar plinth with lead statue. Plinth oblong on plan with moulded base, panelled sides and cornice supporting statue of naked warrior running forward with sword and shield. Part of a group of C18 statues in the gardens".
There was at least one young baronet around that time (1740-60) who could well have gone on a cultural tour of Europe and acquired this (and other mementoes).
I suspect it is of C18 manufacture in the style of Roman Empire statuary but who knows.

40 Jun 22 Comment It's summer and we have little rain, so maybe some scorching of the shrubs? Enhancing the greens maybe OK, except for the photo travel requirements. I appreciate the thought, though. Jun 19th
40 Jun 22 Reply I wasn't swanking, just providing the dates for info. I believe your oldest building is the Elizabeth Farm in Sydney built in 1793.
The nice thing about Burton Agnes Hall is that you can walk around inside and take as many photographs as you like.
I have thought about removing the crutch but I think it adds to the "charm" of the statue.

40 Jun 22 Reply Thanks, maybe also in "The Avengers"?
I like your mono transfer and removing the crutch (I would need to remove the shadow of the crutch too).
However, this image is probably aimed for photo-travel where "fiddling" is not permitted.

40 Jun 22 Comment Another comment, at the top left corner is a grey cloud with a couple of dark spots underneath it. Probably perfectly natural but it catches the eye and I just wonder about cloning them out. Just a thought. Jun 19th
40 Jun 22 Comment This a great abstract. I don't see the bullet hole though.
My only suggestion would be to slightly crop off the bottom to remove the horizontal streak, as it catches my eye too much.

40 Jun 22 Comment I think you've done a good treatment of the mono version (nice crop), but I think I prefer Don's version.
Thanks for sharing the original. I like the colour version but not as much. I think it has a blue cast (put it through "auto WB" in Lightroom as opposed to "as shot") and I think it is 1 stop underexposed, so still worth a look as a colour image.

40 Jun 22 Comment Nice picture, and a pleasant treatment. I wouldn't do much different. Only suggestion would be to clone out the light spots on the left hand side (top, middle bottom), which catch the eye. Jun 19th
40 Jun 22 Comment Yes, well taken, we Brits would never walk out into the sea like that - too cold :)
I like the crop, perhaps needs a bit more on the left hand side as he is looking that way. Nice to have removed the stuff on the beach. As the others have said, nice and sharp and you've frozen the wave.

40 Jun 22 Comment Interesting image and well seen. I think cutting off the "nose" of the saddles in your final version detracts a little bit. Agree with Julie consider a square format.
To me its mostly a mono image but it works in colour too.

40 Jun 22 Comment Attached is the color version for Jamie's June entry. Jun 13th
40 Jun 22 Comment Would you like to share the colour version of this with us please? Jun 11th
