Welcome to the Group, John.
Strong image. I agree with the others that better to clone out the bystanders, |

Very impressive (I had heard you were a whiz in abstracts), not much I can suggest.
I wondered about cropping off the LHS and bottom which are perhaps a bit light so that the present centre is on "a third". Just an idea. |

Really grabs the attention, a very nice composite. |

A dramatic treatment which works very well. I agree original 2 not so successful. |

Neat idea, I really must give this software a try some time. I can't suggest anything extra needed doing. |

Thanks for the helpful comments.
I took the point about the windmill blade merging with the sculpture but it wasn't turning so what you see is what you've got. I'll have to go back sometime.
The images on top of the arms are actually part of a railway engine and coal wagon, something I didn't realise until afterwards. |

These subjects are always photographically interesting and often changing, so next month there will surely be added graffiti. I think they're are even more interesting if you could include some human activity like a car going past or a painter at work. I think the camera position is fine and I like the post processing, you've given it some extra zip.
I just wonder if better to crop the bottom so that the double yellow road like starts in the bottom left hand corner but that's just me. |

Interesting abstract, well seen. I assume that it is ice in the water.
I also don't much like the pink effect which is most odd to my eyes. Possibly a slight crop to the top and right might be good.
What do you think of this picture in monochrome? |

Nice idea, very pleasant photograph.
For me the effect is spoiled by the creases in the cloth at the bottom which could be photoshopped out; also not so keen on the reflections on the glass vase. |

A few people don't like the far background. Is this better? |

Thanks for sharing the websites with photos of this subject. I am not sure it matters if others have made images of a subject before, what is important to make the best picture yourself. Yes, there are images where everyone has been there before (that famous bend in the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon springs to mind) but you have to make the best of the subject and the light.
This a strange view (when I first saw it I couldn't work out what is was) through two trees which detract from the subject in my humble opinion. The wall in the foreground is very soft and doesn't add anything to the scene, also I think it's a bit too dark. I think the attached is possibly a little better, cropped and lightened. What do you think or have I missed the point of what you were trying to achieve? |

You have really captured the cyclist very well. I tend to agree that showing some movement in the wheels might be better. Also cloning out the rails behind. What do you think? |

Thanks, I agree there needs to be something in the background. That is BP Saltend, a chemical facility (with its own conventional power station) where acetyl compounds are manufactured. Next to that are two roll-on roll-off ferries for Belgium (now gone) and The Netherlands.
I wondered about deleting the red buoy and the stripe. |
