18 Jan 21 Comment Thanks Jim, I take your point and the barrier-less image is a possibility although I would need a different title. I'll need time to work on the bow. Jan 28th
18 Jan 21 Comment I feel it's better in black and white. Also, my eye is drawn to the mark on the woman's cheek which I think would be better cloned out. I am easy on taking off the lettering on the lens, perhaps that better removed too. But a great effect. Jan 27th
18 Jan 21 Comment I feel it needs something bright and colourful at the right hand bottom "third" for the eye to go to. Jan 22nd
18 Jan 21 Comment I like the second version more but both are worth trying in an exhibition. Jan 22nd
18 Jan 21 Comment Food for thought? Jan 22nd
18 Jan 21 Comment Yes a splendid picture, I agree with the comment about breaking the pattern. Jan 22nd
18 Jan 21 Comment Thanks Jen, you are quite right about the red tree. I've done that and will see how it does. Jan 10th
18 Jan 21 Comment Here is a version without the red tape. Not sure it is better? Jan 6th

40 Jan 21 Reply I think too much crop better a more square image? Jan 29th
40 Jan 21 Comment Neat idea, I think maybe better if more in focus, it looks a bit soft to me. Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment Nice picture, good to take the opportunity when it presents (I have forgotten what a cloudless sky looks like, we've had so much rain). Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment I have nothing add to what the others have said. Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment There is nothing on the right hand side which is where the eye is drawn after looking at the window. This image strikes me as a book jacket with a handy empty space on the right hand side for text. And there are numerous books written on the lighthouse theme (not just Virginia Wolff). The emptiness of the sky perhaps reflects that the view from the window is just empty sky and perhaps the sea, but nothing else there. Conventionally one might expect the window to be on a third. I assume that you are aware of this and that you decided not to do this, which is fine - there is nothing which says the "rule of thirds" is obligatory. My feeling is that you could do a very slight crop to make it more of a square format, and perhaps raise the level of the cloud line to higher up the image. But an interesting pic with lots to think about. Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment Very nice close up. My only comment is that the top is a little soft, I'm not sure this matters but it could have been cropped to advantage. Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment I think this unusual treatment works well, certainly an effective 'scape. I think I prefer the colouration of the "satellite" version but that's personal. Jan 21st
40 Jan 21 Comment Very common on the rivers in Cambridge and in the Norfolk fens.

I may have to think of a better title.
