Yes, I agree with you (thanks) but was lucky to get what I could at the time. Sadly not able to go back this year. |

Yes thanks, pleased to have got a couple in.
I felt as it was the first it needed support and good to see it seems to have been successful. |

Super stuff. I am not sure about the writing either, perhaps would work better if more blurred i.e. recognisable as writing but not so readable. My only other thought is that it might work even better if her eyes were not open. Just an idea. But I am being picky. |

This is a really neat idea which works well. I just wonder whether fewer bottles might work better - perhaps just one or two. It's given me ideas for my photography, anyway, so thanks. |

Great idea, I am less than enchanted with the birds on the left hand side; Jim's proposal I find more attractive. |

Yes, I like this a lot - a real minimalist picture and works well. I have no improvements to suggest. |

Got to say this is a real improvement over the original and a nice piece of art - too good for the Tate (they are closed anyway), get a print put up on your own wall!
The intensity of the yellow is a matter of taste and I have no problem with this. |

The bright area is a piece of out of focus cliff. |

Thanks for all your comments. This version is a little less cropped. |

I think actually the orange sky as a background to the trees really makes this picture. So whilst it would work in black and white I think colour is much more dramatic. |

I am struggling with this image. I like the concept but I think it would have been better to have tilted the camera down slightly so as to have got the edge of the reeds in. I feel uncomfortable with the reeds cut off as you have done (but I could be wrong!). It really needs a better eye than mine.
Overall it looks a bit soft - did you use a tripod? And there are a few spots showing up in the sky due to dust on the sensor - these need cloning out. This image might also work well in monochrome. Hope this helps.

Good shot. I agree with Henry. The image would also work well in monochrome.
I agree - terrible times and not just in the USA, Australia has also had bad fires like this. |

Great shot. It's the sort of photo that makes me want to go there. I think you have done a good job in removing the power lines but the final version looks quite pale compared with the original and needs the intensity increasing. Also, there are some little red spots which perhaps would be better cloned out (apart from the flag on the right hand side).

It's a great scene, gives you a real feeling of the carnival but I think it suffers from too much going on. You've lost the top of the tower. The real main subject is the figure in green but the group behind her, the interesting lamp post and the background all clash. Perhaps at the time better to use a wider lens or turn the camera on its side. Difficult to take these shots as I bet the green figure was walking quite fast. As Anne points out the yellow scaffolding clips are a bit distracting too and could be toned down. My feeling best to crop off the top, the left hand side and the right hand side and concentrate more on the green figure (but everyone says I crop too much). What do you think? |

Thanks. Gannets are very common at Bempton in the summer
I didn't have a skylight filter on this lens (it's 77mm). I might well investigate a polariser at some stage. I did try to bring down the highlights using LR. One reason for the heavy crop was to exclude other birds. |
