I agree with Mark - it would work better with a more blurred background. |

Novel. I feel better if it was "facing" towards the camera rather than to the left. |

Nice effect especially in the backgound. I don't much like the immediate foreground though - all those twigs detract for me. Maybe just crop it off. |

Good effect and nice treatment. I would be temped to darken the very light patches at the top right of the window surround. Good shot. |

It is difficult with eyes, as you mention, as the brows cause such dark shadows. |

Nice atmospheric shot - gives a real feel of the location. I agree with Alison it works better in black and white. I would be tempted to give it a bit more exposure - I don't think (at least on my monitor) there is very much "white" in the image. Also perhaps crop a touch off the left hand side. What do you think? |

Yes, very atmospheric. Maybe that's was the effect you were aiming for, but I don't think that, apart from the figure, anything is sharp or in focus. The softness at the top of the dune at the left and right I find strangely uncomfortable - but that's just me. Have you another version of this image that is sharper? |

Yes a good attempt and it does look cold. Especially like the mist effect.
My only comment is I find the branches of the bush/tree too prominent - I am trying to look beyond that to Lake Superior and the bush is in the way. Perhaps a viewpoint bypassing that would be even more effective. |

I agree its soft but that comes with the weather and time of day. Perhaps it could do with a touch more vibrance and contrast, though. I think the reflections are pleasant and the triangular tree behind the bird is interesting.
Have you thought of cropping off the right hand side and making it more of a square? That would put the pelican more on a third and slightly larger in the frame. |

You've caught the atmosphere of a workout very well and have applied this technique very effectively. Only comment is the toe of the blue shoe has been cropped out (maybe not important) and I think overall the image is a touch underexposed and giving it +1.5 stops might be better. |
