Strong effect - yes maybe delete the right hand. |

There is something odd about the left hand side cloud and also the rocks on the right hand side - an almost misty effect. Detracts for me from the overall effect which is attractive. |

Sadly, there are no details in their faces in the original. |

Neat idea but I think better if the lion image was sharper. |

I think this is a completely different take to the original, I think the vignette is particularly effective. The Glow plugin works very well here. |

Agree, one for the wall.
Maybe trim take a small amount off the right hand side? |

Nice petals and striking colours; the black/dark blue background certainly helps. I think it would be improved by using the clone tool/spot healing brush (context aware) to remove the plastic clip holding the stalk to the supportive stick. |

I am not at all an expert in this area (hopefully someone who is can comment). I suggest you look up PSA and FIAP competition rules on Nature & Wildlife (they are not quite the same).
I suspect the fact that the foreground looks mown (ie human involvement) may be the reason judges don't like the picture in a competition. Anyone else got any suggestions? |

Exposure of the church is nice and the surrounding area is OK but in my opinion the sky is too bright. But the major fault for me is the branches across the end of the church and the lighting on the left hand field doesn't look natural. I suspect this could have been mitigated by moving the camera slightly to the left. Also, the bright light in the sky to the right of the church - is that the moon?
I think you have accomplished a starting point for going back and shooting it right next time. Hope this helps. |

It's a nice picture of deer near your home. It might be better as cropped in the portrait format.
As a Natural History picture I don't think it works, as the deer appear to be on the edge of a field so not really in their natural environment. The hind quarters of the front deer are a little soft, probably because of movement. I am not sure that the positioning of the deer behind is OK. Both are fully aware of the photographer & I think this detracts.
I suspect better to photograph them from a hide so as not to "upset" them. They would look better relaxed.
Hope this helps.
