The green background doesn't work for me. |

Nice subject and a super effect. A pity about the light shining through the rear window. I think this might be a better crop though, like Mark I would like to see more of the pickup. |

Nice effect, the colouration is good and the streaking gives the impression of movement. |

I also thought of the "chipboard" texture - I think it works very well. I also agree with Peter that the lighthouse better placed a bit to the right. |

Thanks for your comments. I am not so sure about the perpendicularity though - I feel it adds a bit of tension to the pic although this is arguable. But realistically, the light was tall and I was close to it, so I had to angle the camera upwards to get it and the ship in.
I much prefer original 1 to this though. |

I like original 1 better too. I don't think you are being "controversial" (and nothing wrong with that anyway). Thanks. |

I don't dislike the flipping - not sure it makes that much difference here. I like the crop. |

I wondered about that but I think it's fine as it is. |

Nice camera position, nice colours, good exposure and I like the the effect on the running water. However, the near foreground is too soft in my opinion and I think it would have been better to focus more on that area and use a much smaller stop to increase the depth of field. |

This works! Original is focused enough and the black and white treatment is fine. I wondered about tilting the frame a bit to get the line as a stronger diagonal but it isn't better. |

Excellent picture, the post process stitching has worked well; nothing I would change. I agree about taking a wide angle lens on trips. |

This is an awkward scene to make an attractive photograph of; there are a lot of detracting foreground & background items. The other side of the ship is really horrible! Perhaps not possible to get all the bowsprit in (not sure that matters) and you haven't been helped by the weather.
Overall, I think you have made a good job of this. The camera position is fine and the field gun and sculpture in the foreground add scale. The sky is much better than in the original. Good memory of your trip. |
