18 Sep 17 Reply It's a picture of horizontal stripes (and none the worse for that) Sep 21st
18 Sep 17 Comment I like the sky ray effect and the colouration. I am not so convinced by the black line (sea wall?) which runs across the whole of the picture with the ship mergings with it. For me, this is a "blocker" to viewing the Sleeping Giant but I am not sure if anything you could do anything to improve that. Sep 21st
18 Sep 17 Comment I agree with JoAnn and Mike, it would be better to have a single person doing the selfie. Otherwise works well. Great background. Sep 21st
18 Sep 17 Comment I really find this most attractive, it almost looks like it is grassland on fire. Sep 21st

40 Sep 17 Comment I really like stained glass, have seen the work of Dale Chihuly? This glass work works really well with the fish images, most creative. Perhaps better with the stained glass background being softer (less sharp) and lighter?
Another thought, it's more "fish world" than "glass world" - maybe a better title.

40 Sep 17 Reply Curtis, I like your new version much better. Maybe just crop a bit off the left hand side as well? Sep 20th
40 Sep 17 Comment I like this, deer or no deer. I wonder if it would be better with a bit of a crop on both sides, to put the brown leaves more on a third. What do you think? Sep 20th

40 Sep 17 Comment One of the most atmospheric pictures I have seen all year. Great! Only critical comment is perhaps needs a little de-noising (eg the boat).

Agree with comments about beanbags etc. Manfrotto do a small table top tripod which might also work. Agree you could try increasing your ISO, modern cameras very forgiving here.

40 Sep 17 Comment I find this a bit dissatisfying as a silhoutte; the cat still has a bit of detail and I think it would be better underexposed maybe 1 1/2 stops. That would also darken the blue background. A nice take on an unusual subject Sep 20th
40 Sep 17 Comment I agree that the crop is a bit too tight. Unfortunately I haven't a copy which allows inclusion of the curved bit at the top. Silly of me as the picture was taken at 40mm and I had a 24mm to hand. A lesson here.
You have sharp eyes, Karen - I hadn't noticed the brightness at the bottom right hand side. It's in the original and looking at that it looks to me as though the glass window is actually a frame of coloured glass hung over the actual window.
