The bird is beautiful, but there doesn't seem to be enough contrast between the bird and background. At first I thought the background was plants growing on the bottom of the sea. This composite just doesn't seem to work. |

Beautiful work, Jan. One needs to look twice to realize that is not a real butterfly. I love the way you put this together. |

You have presented a strong story line. I think reducing the opacity at the top is a big improvement. A thin stroke to separate the image from the background would be helpful. Good work as always. |

The color palette is beautiful. The lines and curves present a very simple minimalistic image. Beautiful work. Sorry to see you go, but good luck to you. |

Peter, you have a good idea, but I don't think it translates well at this resolution. I agree with Jan. The background is too busy, and it needs a tighter crop. It is always better to get in closer when photographing birds, especially the tiny ones you have here. I feel that you are using filters for filters sake. It is always better to have a reason to use a filter. The filters used on the birder do not make the image cohesive since the rest of the image does not have use of the same filters. |
