Brenda, I usually anchor my images on the right. They seem to work better there. No background texture was added because the image is about the bird in the fog. The fog in this case had no texture. It covered the entire area with the same texture which was a flat fog texture. |

Geoff, beautiful shot of the wallaby and baby. The color palette is beautiful and blends so well with the background. It is good that the animals are looking at the camera. |

Good capture, Brenda, although it is quite far away. The bird is sharp, the beak is open, and the color palette is nice. The background is not distracting, and the bird shows well with good contrast. I learned early that you do not amputate body parts, such, as legs. It was never a Nature shot when taken standing on a man made post. |

Jacob, this is very good work. You edited the flower well. The b&w conversion was a good choice, and the background treatment eliminated the distractions. I think Mervyn's finish helps the image. You should be proud. |

Pierre, good capture of the beautiful red fox. He appears to be quite comfortable warming in the morning sun. The grey background sets him off nicely. I do agree that some cropping is needed. |

Dean, the birds are sharp and the whites are well handled. I agree with Mervyn that the two birds are to far apart and not interacting for this image to work. The grasses around the bird on the right are definitely distracting. It is always tempting to take images of birds when you are too far away, but they never work. |

Good capture, Mervyn. The diagonal from the female to the chick creates a nice line. You were fortunate to be so close. I do feel that the feathers on the adult are somewhat blocked. It might be helpful to open the shadows. The stick that leads across the wing of the adult could be easily removed. |
