Beautiful work, Jan. I really like the dreaminess of this image. Everything works well together. You created a beautiful color palette, too. |

Good job, Lori, changing a mundane scene into a gloomy winter one. The blue cast enhances the scene. The two trees on either side of the barn do a good job of framing. I do believe that a more realistic horse would have worked better. To me it just looks like a white blob. Adding the path to the barn was a good choice. |

Good work with this image. You have done a fine job with the film title that you chose. All the work in the shower to create bloody splashes and hand prints works well. As with some of the others, I am not overly fond of this gorey scene. |

The ram is certainly a good, strong subject. Your color palette is beautiful with all the earthly colors. I feel that there needs to be more definition between the ram and background. There does probably need to be some softening of the background and soften the harsh light. |

Alan, the scary in your face Jack in the box at the bottom of the stairs is the perfect finish to the journey from top to bottom. The face looks like Mr. Jack is coming right for you. Good job. |

Steve, the variety of images and colors in your marbles, orbs, gives this image lots of interest. I think you did a splendid job of placing them in the water. I agree with Jan that it is a happy image that we all need right now. |

Good work, Brenda. I think you have done a fine job to show off the bird. The only thing I might add is to dodge the eye just very slightly for about a 45 degree angle along the top of eye in the iris, just enough to bring the eye to the bird's eye. |

Great shot Geoffrey. I love the colors. The background is not distracting. The gold eyes and blue tones on the emu complement each other well. |

Excellent action shop, Brenda. You have processed it well, and the bird pops off the page. The bird has detail throughout with excellent position of the feet. I think you need a stroke to define the edges of the image. Good job on burning down the background to let the bird be the central point of interest-especially the beak and feet. There is a halo around the upper and lower neck and head resulting from the burning. I would use a mask to soften it or burn closer to the bird and remove any overlap with a mask. There is a little bright spot right under the tip of the beak that I would remove. The two stumps on the left do not bother me. |

Good job with lightening the image and bringing the flowers on the tree on the left into view. I agree that there is no center of interest. In the future, maybe look for a rock or some other object to anchor the image, maybe something in the pond. |

Pierre, nice capture of the chickadee. It is hard to find them not moving. In my opinion I would make it more about the bird and less about the surroundings by using a tighter crop that brings the bird into the lower right corner and removes a lot of the background. |

Dean, I agree with the others. There is something about this image that is lacking. For me, it seems that it is too cluttered, and nothing stand out. Everything just sort of blends together. |

Beautiful, intimate fall scene, Mervyn. I think cropping to include the cluster of rocks was the best choice. You have lots of good leading lines with the silky water and rocks and a nice foreground frame with the rocks across the front. I feel that the top of the image is well framed with the layer of rocks and the gently flowing silky water over the top of the rocks. The stream creates a beautiful S curve from the top of the image to the lower left. |

Brenda, I haven't been out in almost a year due to covid. Blue Cypress Lake, west of Vero on route 60 (turn at radio tower) is wonderful for ospreys. They have had guided photography tours in pontoon boats in the past-don't know what they are doing now. Middleton's Fish Camp-google and call, make reservations ahead. Fort DeSoto Park in St. Petersburg has been wonderful. The best birding has been near the food Pavillion, pretty far down and at pier-both on Gulf. You may also find birds in the area that runs along Tampa Bay. Nesting of comorants and anhinghas usually starts in Nov, blue herons early in year, great egrets Feb. The rookery at Alligator Farm in St. Augustine is a great place, but is usually crowded. I don't know what they are doing now . |

Actually 600 mm on full frame. My lens at 300 mm on 4/3 cropped sensor becomes 600 mm. |
