Great work, Jan. I love the way you put the timepiece together and the background is perfect. The textures add the needed vintage look. The gears in the back are just dark enough to give the timepiece priority in thew image. |

It is a beautiful image, Denise. I agree with what has been said-I would opt for a light grey thin border. I might soften the well defined powder strokes on the right and left outside. The black background works well. The ballerina is photographed well especially considering your problem with the wrong lens. |

Good job,Georgianne, in creating this minimalist look of the chair and pillar. The red and blue work well together and play well against each other. |

Hi Alan, we are so glad to have you join our group. I am one that does not do as many composites as the others. I also initially agreed with the others that the shadows should be consistent, but see your point. You have a very interesting creation. I am wondering if the door should be visible through the ballerinas that are placed in front of the door? The dancers are well placed, and the violinist certainly gives a nice balance to the image. |

Thanks for the idea on getting rid of a messy background with an effect. It works very well. I agree about getting rid of the bright spots, roof lines and greener eyes. The top edge of the head on the left might need a little more definition. but, over all it is a wonderful creation. |

Geoffrey, the colors are beautiful and the history adds to the image. I do agree that the image suffers from halos caused by over processing. however, as a landscape it is well composed. Love to see more landscapes. |

Brenda, the golden layers are beautiful. I feel a crop from the top is helpful. Mervyn's changes work well. |

Pierre, the bird is beautiful with its feathers all puffed up for warmth. The feathers, beak, and feet are nice and crisp. It might improve the image by bringing the highlights down a bit. The highlight is in the bird's eye, just not very visible. You could probably enhance the highlight by using a very small brush with the dodge tool. I have removed objects like the intersecting branch by using the clone tool and a mask to paint the feathers back in. It is a beautiful imaage. |

Dean, the mist gives your image such a nice feel. I really like the way the foreground is nice and crisp with deep blacks, and the scene seems to fade with the mist as you look toward the background. However, you still have detail in the mountains in the background, nice job. |

Mervyn, I think this is a wonderful shot. The head, legs, twig, body and front wing are beautifully sharp. The other wings, slightly out do not bother me and neither does the background noise. Nik's Define does a nice job with noise in an uncluttered background. We do not have the really cold mornings and evenings here as they do up north, so shooting when it is cold is not much of an option here. |

The focal length was 240, equivalent to 480 on a full frame camera. |

It is a young red shouldered hawk. It was sitting on our backyard fence. I started out pretty far back and slowly moved closer. |

No, it was not a rehab bird, but a wild young bird. We live on the edge of the Everglades and often see wild birds and other critters that come in especially during very dry or wet times. |
