Helen, you have put this together well. everything seems to fit. The reflections work well. The crowns are a nice finishing touch. Thanks Steve, for the idea on adding a metallic touch. |

Denise, this is wonderful. The detail and texture in all of the components creates a wonderful composition. With Jan's shadow and lighting change on the elephant it is perfect. I love the little hairs and bits of straw on the baby. |

Georgianne, you have put this together well. I agree about the white vignette.I feel that it would be more effective if it wasn't so defined but rather more subtle. Your positioning of the cars is excellent. |

Thanks, Steve. I flatten my images rather than merge because I do a lot of printing and use 16 bit files rather than 8. It takes a long time to process a layer on most of my images. It would be much longer with a merged file. I do save the files with the layers before flattening. |

Good job Steve. The zoom works well to conceal the background, and the stick is a clever idea. I might have desaturated the red from the background on the right. It is a little distracting. And I agree that the hat is clipped on the left. Also, I would have defined the edge a bit better on the top point of the hat. With masking it is always hard to paint back the original. |

Gannets are amazing birds. You have an excellent capture of this bird coming in for a landing. I do believe as the others that a wider crop would be helpful. |

Brenda, lightening the central trees as well as a crop from the bottom may improve the image. the image is nicely framed with a very dramatic sky. |

Beautiful macaque, nicely blurred background, and interesting expression. The angle of the head adds to the beauty of the image well as the crispness of the eyes. |

Pierre, the dark foreground and red twigs provide the perfect separation for that stunning owl. I love the white face and glowing gold eyes. I agree that a tighter crop would be helpful. I is always a good idea to selectively sharpen a bird or other animal in an image. But this is beautiful in spite of a little softness. |

Dean, you have a beautiful image from such a large crop. The two front flowers are nice and sharp, and the centers of those two flowers are definitely the focus of the image. Even the pollen on the stamens is tack sharp. The little bit of red especially on the bud moves the eye through the image.
Hope you are well healed by now and back to your regular activities. |

Mervyn,
The lighting on this mountain goat is just beautiful. There is great contrast with the dark background, which still has detail, and the goat is definitely the main player. The shadows are nice and the eye is well lit. The animal is crisp except for the moving foot/leg. The goat stands out so well from the background and triangle of dark foreground which makes the textures of the goat and lit ground pop. Great job! |
