What a fine image you have put together. The new textured background pulls everything together. All the pieces that you have added are in perfect order. This is a piece of art. |

Helen, you have a good start here. The transformation of the checked shirt to black suit is well done as well as the background. However, I do feel that the pumpkin seems to be floating rather than anchored. I agree with Gloria that the perspective and angle of the pumpkin could be improved. |

Excellent treatment, Georgianne. I agree that some method to bring down the highlights on the right would improve your image. The selective coloring was a great idea. |

Interesting treatment of a well worked subject. The well defined center is quite appealing. the hanging leaf on the left adds needed interest. |

Beautiful work, Steve. The B&W layer finished off the image perfectly. Reworking the hat was the perfect finish. The new textured background took care of the previous lack of detail. |

A very nice landscape, Rob. The brown tones give good definition to the land and separate it from the water and sky. the curvature gives a good flow to the image. The reflection adds to the mood. The clouds add interest to the overall image. This is very different for you, good job. |

Another stunning image Brenda. The reflection provides a clean foreground. The angle of the cat creates a nice flow in the image. The log gives a good leading line and place for the tail to rest. I agree with Donna that the image needs some darkening/contrast to bring the cat out of the background. I always like to brighten the eyes and add a little vibrance since that is the main focal point of the image. |

This is a spectacular image, Donna. The elk is beautifully framed by the out of focus background and foreground. I feel like I could reach out and touch it. The slight amount of back lighting increases the power of the image. |

Pierre, You certainly found an interesting critter. Your composition, framing the tarantula with the surrounding rocks, is in my opinion, excellent. I agree with Mervyn, Brenda and Donna. The contrast needs to be bumped up, and using a vignette to set off the tarantula, will give more emphasis to it. Donna's idea of changing the tone on the rocks on the left is excellent. I used the Camera Raw Filter to increase contrast. |

Dean, You have certainly captured the personality of this inquisitive Blue Jay. The pose gives a nice line to the Jay. The bird is sharp from the tip of its beak to the tip of its tail. I do feel that you have some bright whites in the wings and on the right at the beginning of the tail. You have nice color on the bird, and the background is not competing. I do feel that Mervyn's crop is an improvement. |

Mervyn, The capture of the bison drinking from the puddle on the road with that interesting reflection and the curve in the road as a frame gives your image the story that is lacking in so many. A slight opening of the shadows and black and a bit of clarity in the Camera Raw Filter gives a more natural look and crispness. That, in my opinion, along with a very slight S curve in luminosity blend mode gives the image enough sharpness and opens up the shadows. Good work. |
