Love what you did with the twirl effect. The colors are beautiful and your creation of the lady with flowing hair is wonderful. |

Don't worry about always having a composite, Helen. Very few of my images are composites. My mind just doesn't work that way.all of your images this month are pleasing to the eye-#1, #2, #3 and the final. You found nice lines and curves with good contrast. |

Nice job with the transformation of the image, Christine. The color palette of the new image is a big improvement.Your flood works well and gives more interest to the image. I do agree that some of the water should be cropped and the light rays are a big asset. they give definition and a light source to the light in the water. |

The overall image has a happy feel to it, Georgianne. The bright neon colors with the road through the center set the scene well. The dancer on the right just doesn't seem to stand out from the background enough. Maybe if you moved her onto the road it would work better. The little girl works well, but she seems to be floating.Jan's idea of a motion blur at the end of the road seems to give more definition to the end of the road.Nice image with lots to look and and great color. |

I work my images as TIFF files then convert to JPEG at the very end. It is this conversion that causes the trouble. That as well as changing the color space from Adobe to sRGB is what causes the trouble. Sometimes the JPEG image appears to sharp after the conversion, and it needs to be softened by lowering the clarity. |

The duck, itself, is stunning, Donna. The movement of the water adds to the interest.the reflection in the water of the duck adds to the beauty of the image. In comparing your original and edited versions, I feel that, when you edited the image, the beautiful golden light in the original was lost. It also appears to me that you have lost detail in the whites and the area on the beak. The 1/3 top of the image is without interest. I feel that some of that negative space should be cropped off. Probably leaving a little more of the concentric circles in the water on the right side would have added to your story. |

I am no longer a purist nature photographer. Rather, I present the image as a piece of art, not necessarily the way it was shot. This group, Nature Plus, has a policy of "anything goes" and is not constrained by the "nature" rules that allow few edits. |

I appreciate your comments. Usually, finding what is right with an image is a better start. That way the maker is not put on edge as he/she receives the comments. PSA has a very good judging course that has been recommended to the Digital Dialog members as a good way to learn how to give comments. |

Nice capture, Rob. You have nice detail in the bird and the wave on the right does add movement. The tilt of the bird's head is a nice touch.I agree that a crop would help. Cropping from the left would preserve the wave on the right.Maybe, using a wider aperture would allow you to reduce your iso to reduce some of the noise. |

This image is simply beautiful, Brenda. You have detail in the shadows and highlights. The image is crisp with nice detail in the sandstone. You have detail and sharpness in the important areas that need detail, but such lovely softness in the falling sand. My eye is able to move through the image from the top left down to the bright area with the stick and then toward the bottom through the softly flowing sand. And all the while looking around the edges to see the complementing striations in the rock and the beautiful lighting. You have created such beauty here. |

The squirrel is positioned nicely in the frame with a highlight in the eye.Even though the head is slightly soft, it is evident that the important area is the squirrel eating its nut.The hands and nut seem to be sharper than the face of the squirrel.Maybe, flipping the image would be an improvement to move the tree to a less important area of the image. I used the camera raw filter to sharpen the image slightly, improve contrast, clarity and haze. |

Very unusual and interesting capture, Dean. The sharpness of the snake and especially the sharpness of the eye make the image. I really find the green of the snake brings you right to the subject. The lizard with it's foot hanging down from the snake's mouth adds to the interest. The bright edge does pull your attention away. Maybe just leaving a sliver would improve your subject. |

Nice capture, Mervyn, of this cooperative family. All of the family seems to be sharp, and all eyes were looking at the photographer, excellent work. To me, the sand seems to be too bright, and the white strip of salt at the top of the image does seem to be a distraction. Maybe a tighter crop would help to pull the eye away from the bright area in tighter to the family. I darkened the sand, slightly brightened the family and cropped to a panorama. |
