Jan, you have created a fun image. Love your choice of natural plant parts to create it. The light touch with the oil paint filter works well.Beautiful. |

Helen, you captured a beautiful image of the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove. You had much better weather than we did last summer-the wind was strong and rain blowing. The reflection in the pool is lovely as well as the overall colors of the image. I have found that it is better to use textures to give texture to areas that need some or to reduce brightness in some cases. I have also found that textures work better when they are subtle. I agree with Phil that the texture seems too strong. I feel that this texture works well in the pool but needs to be a much lower opacity over the rest of the image. I also agree that a bit of a crop to remove the lighthouse from the center would be helpful. |

Glad you were able to miss Irma. As a resident of South Florida, we were lucky to escape a direct hit but were on the bad side of the storm. We are still trying to return to normal-my reason for being so late with comments.
Good job adding the grasshopper under the mushroom. I feel that the choice of the sepia image was a good one. The little missed green areas were distracting, and the image seemed a bit overexposed. Steve's improvements really helped the image. I agree with Phil that the canvas texture might have had a better choice. |

Good job, Phil. The arrangement of the images is quite pleasing. You were certainly able to capture extreme detail on the sun and around it. Steve was able to reduce the purplish hue from the pre-eclipse images, but the orange flares of the sun were changed to bluish tones. You should be very pleased with your creation. |

Good job with the selection and placing in the field, Steve. The use of a sepia toning for the engine was a good choice. The sepia toned engine works well with the colors of the field. Jan's changes work well to improve the image and make it appear to be a working machine. The smudge tool is not my favorite when used so extensively and pushed to the extreme. It is a personal preference, but I would rather see more of the detail of the field and a lower opacity of the smudging. |

Nice capture, Rob. The head and eye are tack sharp and the wings show movement.the background is somewhat distracting. I agree with Brenda that a vignette would help. There are some white blotches that should be removed or darkened. I would not consider this a butt shot but rather a side shot. |

Great bird, Brenda. The background is nicely blurred. you have captured nice texture and detail in the feathers.Since you asked for improvement ideas, I worked on your image a bit-brightened the eye with selective color, burned the beak and feet a bit, and then took the image into the ACR filter to reduce highlights, decrease shadows and increase contrast. Hope you like . The bird seems to pop now. |

Nice capture of the landscape, Chuck. I agree with everyone else. The processing in the camera gave an oversaturated image, and a few items should have been removed. |

Good job, Pierre. The monarch is beautiful with the light behind to give some back lighting, good depth of field and positioning of the monarch. |

Wonderful capture, Mervyn. The texture in the fur and the eyes are beautiful. The tree on gives a nice frame. I do agree that the grass is a bit distracting. The lioness appears to be startled and frightened with her ears back. |
