Since this really seems like an abstract to me, I would go all the way. Crop in to just before the eyes on each side and darken the background on the right. I used Nik color Effect Tonal Contrast and Detail Enhancer and a vignette. |

The burned out hair on her right side does need some detail brought back. For me, the sweeping tatoo that goes across her nose and to her right eye doesn't feel quite right. But otherwise, this is a neat result. Well done. |

In general, I would opt for your final version. It has a hint of mistyness (sic) that works well. I don't feel like the trees need to be brighter. The only problem for me is the tree on the right - it seems almost suspended in the air rather than being rooted in the ground. |
