This is very appealing. The texture of the background comes through very well. I love the shadows; they add real dimension/depth to the image. Steve is right: seeing it almost full screen is even better. This is a fun image to explore. |

For me, your texture works well on the lower half but not on the sky or lighthouse itself. My question is - why do you want that texture there? If the simple sky is the problem, add some clouds (and their reflection in the water!); or use a more subtle texture for the sky. Also, a bit of a crop from the right could take the lighthouse off of dead center. |

You have combined your 2 subjects well. It would be good if you had a bit more detail in the top of the mushroom. And for me, the canvas texture feels out of place and distracting. |

Your transformation of the boat is great. My problem is that it feels like you have 1.5 subjects: the boat and to a lesser extent, the rocks. My eyes get drawn back and forth between them. Perhaps if you moved the rocks up and left, that would help. |

Jan's changes help a lot; otherwise the engine looks pasted on. I was expecting (!!!) a Goth in the driver's seat..... |

Thanks. I am not quite happy though with the purplish color of the pre-eclipse images. I am not sure where that developed as I processed each image. I am tempted to convert that to a more orange-yellowish hue that resembles what we saw with our special viewing glasses. (FYI the white dot near the first (pre-first contact) image is the star Regulus which was visible during totality.) |
