This is altered reality - but for me, it feels too much like 3 colored cutouts pasted onto the scene. If you could get some of the color into the reflections and make the coloring less flat, it would help convey an other-worldly view. |

Your treatment of the orchid is really superb. But for me, the triptych frame just feels like an add-on that detracts from the flower. My bias is that a triptych shows 3 related views of a subject. If you had 3 different views of the orchid, that would work better. Sorry if this sounds too negative. |

Well done merging of your 3 subjects. A strong crop off the left would help. To enhance the "line" from the boy to the bird, keep the foot of the tree and stretch a bit vertically to an aspect ratio of at least 4/3. Candy's blurring and darkening of the background is also a good idea. |

Given your title, I do like the suggestions of Candy and Steve - the background is too detailed and visible. It probably depends on my monitor, but Candy's version feels more abstract. |

I am not sure I would complicate the image as Steve has done. The simplicity is appealing, the negative space adds, and you did well to control the contrast of the original. If you made any change, I'd vote to sharpen a bit the petal on the right side. |

Great idea. My one suggestion is that the right side doesn't really look cold, just wet. If you toned it blue (and maybe added a graduated neutral density to darken it), that would truly convey cold. |

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the white spot should go and I will fix the slight shadow above the umbrellas - I was in too much of a hurry to get something in for this month. I am also changing the title to "Rain Rendezvous." This image proved quite popular at a local art fair last weekend. |
