A lot of fun being had here, and the more you look, the more there is to see.
I agree with Jan that the opacity should be increased for James (it draws my eye from the rest of the crisp image), but other than that, it's a piece of escapism and entertainment - and I think that's what our hobbies should be all about.
I did a similar thing with some Morris dancers and Aysgarth Falls a while ago: |

Another superb composition. Having seen the prvious comments and your replies, I agree with what you've done regarding the birds.
I feel that the far left bird should be looking towards the left, if it's on guard.
To me, I think the definition between the walls should be sharper, so that a definite angle is seen - just my personal preference. What do you think? |

What a fine mishap! but what a lot of potential!
I'm afraid, as it stands, it doesn't work for me, but why not combine the rework you did for Mike withyour original piece.
I selected the bee from your rework and added some sharpness. On the two versions I used Nik Viveza in Lighten mode and Studio 2 for the lighting effects then brought the bee to the top of the stack. |

An excellent composite. Well done.
I agree with Mike about the dark parts. They seem to have have lost some of the detail.
I've used Nik Collection to bring back the colour and detail. |

Thanks Jan
The colour palette chose itself. I like the idea of moving the tuba player as you suggested.
Of course, you can't always get what you want! |

Thanks Gunter - much appreciated. I can see your argument. It's a difficult call to make, when the band are on stage while the audience is kept at arm's length. |

Hi Mike
It's probably just me, but I felt it was important to keep this stone in the image, as it's one of the originals of s stone circle (a mini henge!). Ikept the band separate from the rest of the images, as that's what the Stones always did - always on stage rather than on the floor. I still love them - I'm just listening to Sweet Sounds of Heaven, from their new album, and they've still got it!
Thanks for your constructive criticism - you're probably right on all counts.
p.s. I spent about 3 years photographing and researching the various stones and crosses and produced a blog, because there was nothing to be found on the web. Subsequently I was asekd to take it down by my publishers, when the book was eventually in print. I still enjoy the moors immensely, and would spend more time there if I could. If you're ever up this way. I'd recoomebd the experience!

What a fine transformation! Your use of the plugins is excellent.
I like the way you've created the background from the lily. It works really well.
I'm surprised you had difficulty selecting the flower. I used 'select subject' then the polygonal lasso tool to fine tune it - the only parts that need the tuning were the lower edge of the flower, the tip and most of all the stem, but these were quite easy.
I may be tempted to add a slight vignette to focus the attention on the flower.
An excellent image.

There are lots of good components to this image and you've put them together well.
In exhibitionj you have only a few seconds to grab the judge's attention, so there needs to be an initial point of focus, to make them look again.
My own feeling is that the individual elements are all very cleanly cut, so they don't really gel as a single image. I'd maybe use a texture to tie them all together.
I've used Topaz Studio 2 with the Alpine Texture, then added water droplets from Eye Candy, and finished off with a slight vignette, to push the viewer to the central tiger.
Just my ideas, but we all know what judges can be like! |
