34 Apr 20 Comment Just what I needed - some absolute escapism, worked by a master. Thankyou!
I think we could all do to get away from the situations we're in at the moment and this is just the tonic (I'll add the gin myself!)
Thanks again and very well done!

34 Apr 20 Comment This is my kind of fun! To me he was too good natured - I tried changing him using liquify but Photoshop couldn't detect a face (stupid programme anyway). I selected his eyes and narrowed them a bit, then his mouth, I brightened his Iris in Anthropics Portrait Pro, then put him in Topaz AI and played some more. I brightened the light a bit using selective colour and probably ruined a perfecttly good image.
I like what you did and I'm really only responding to other people's comments, so I'm sorry if you don't like my changes - if only Liquify would play the game!
WEll done with a well produced and fun image!

34 Apr 20 Comment A pleasing image and a good idea.
I feel it could be better if either the flower or the couple were more the main subject. As it stands you've got them both at reduced opacity, so they're fighting each other to be centre stage. For instance you could bring the flower's opacity up and make the couple merge into it, or you could increase the opacity of the couple and mask the flower to make them emerge from the petals.
A fine image, but one which I feel deserves a little tweaking.

34 Apr 20 Comment Well done Alan. This is the cheerful kind of thing we need just now.
You've worked it very well.
The only thing I would have done would have been to fragment the chessboard a little (but that's just my own choice) - like this:

34 Apr 20 Comment Beautifully worked! Thanks for the detailed instructions. You've made a superb image here, using the various filters at levels which enhanced it without overdoing things - not an easy thing to do. The background works so well too.
Well done.

34 Apr 20 Reply I'm glad you like it - I think there will be a lot more garden inspired images over the next couple of months while we're 'locked down' - apart from that, the Goth Weekendhas been cancelled and it's not looking good for the Steampunks either. Can't go to see the steam trains, or even play with landscapes, so the garden gets it!
I'm not sure how the iPone / Pad camera lens works reagding depth of field, but it certainly works better on very close work with no apparent loss of focus in te background - it worked with the prism anyway.
Watch this space for more flowers as the season moves on!
