34 Oct 19 Comment You did a superb job with the background. I think Jan's version is the the best for me - perfect indeed! Oct 12th
34 Oct 19 Reply It was just a quick job, but I did enhance the shadows on the man and the newspaper, then lit up the side nearer the light. With more time I'd have tackled the ballustrades too. Oct 8th
34 Oct 19 Comment Very Cool Dude and Dudette. They'd feel at home in Whitby at the Steampunk weekends.
I agree with Georgianne's improvements in bringing Dudette's clothing, but of course it could only be done with your expert composition and treatment.
I like the way you've worked the two images - even the cropping makes the Dude look more masculine than the Dudette. Well done again.
The Steampunk Dogs we see are nothing like as cool as yours!

34 Oct 19 Comment Well seen and well treated. The final result is an interesting image. As Alan says, there are many ways to get the same result, but I think it's fun to experiment and learn more about the tools we have. I like playing! You've done well in transforming the image. Well done. Oct 7th
34 Oct 19 Comment I can see why you wanted to use the stairs - they were asking for someone to use them!
I like the effects you've used work well and the desaturated colours of the man fit the image superbly.
The thing that shouted to me was the light on the stairs - why not use it to help him read the newspaper on the dark stairs? So here's an idea which may or may not work, but it was fun to play with:

34 Oct 19 Comment It's obviously been a fun assignment. Using the flashlight was a good idea - did you try using more than one flashlight to create multiple shadows? The ones you produced, combined with the reflections look really good.
You've arranged them well too.
We did a similar assignment a few years ago - I came up with this one, using wire eggcups and a seagull (I used to have a reputation for using seagulls in images!)

34 Oct 19 Reply You're right - I was concentrating on the Goths. The Churchyard was only a backdrop. I'll maybe use it to better effect in a future image. In the meantime, here's one I did many moons ago: Oct 7th
