Thanks Jan. I'm afraid the crop happened when I took the photograph, so not a lot I could do with that, except maybe expand the image and rebuild it. I should take more care with my in camera framing! |

What an uplifting image! Simplicity is often the key to success (says the master of over-complication!)
I think you've worked this so well. The radial gradient works so well for the sun and brings the attention to the gull so well. The feather on the erased wedge is just right and the skies work perfectly.
The capture of the gull is very good - they're not easy to take, particularly with a strong back light.
Thanks for pointing us in the direction of the iPad app - I'll have to look into them. |

Good fun! And A Happy New Year to you too!
The checked shirts look fine to me. I think your compositing is coming on in leaps and bounds. Well done.
I've tried to give the sceptre a more metallic look by selecting the squirter and using Topaz Adjust 5 > Liquid Chrome then a B&W adjustment with a yellow tint, before deselecting it. I'm sure it would look much better with a higher resolution image to work on. |

Nelly The Elephant reborn!
What a fun image and very well executed. Your composition and blending are excellent.
The only distractions for me are the dark area, bottom left and the haziness of the ticket office - of course they're only my thoughts (and listening to them is probably unwise - or so people keep telling me!). The image you've created is wonderful. |

An excellent composition. Well done!
I don't know if you're familiar with Doctor Who, but the image reminds me of the Tardis flying through time and space.
My only change would have been to use less of the white vignette at the bottom of the image, but that's just a personal preference.
I think a large print would work very well. |

What a wonderful image you've created.
The original is excellent on its own, but you've taken it so much further. Thanks for the instruction on how you did it. Playing with standard filters is something we could all benefit from.
I'd have been tempted to stamp up rather than flatten the stack so much - just so that I could play with them more - but that's just my preference.
Well done! |
