34 Mar 18 Comment Quite a transformation! Who'd have thought that such a wonderful image could be made from a greengrocer's shelves.
I'd be tempted to give them irises and use them as eyes.
Well done.

34 Mar 18 Reply Thanks Candy.
It does look better with the couple slightly enlarged. I've never used Nik light fog - something to look into.
Thanks again

34 Mar 18 Reply If you make a new adjustment layer with 'curves' the presets are in a drop-down list at the top of the palette. Mar 16th
34 Mar 18 Reply Don't know about you, but I'm not getting an email with the download link from DxO. Hopefully it'll arrive eventually. I'd send you the exe from my download folder but, but it's too big for the server (497 Mb). Mar 10th
34 Mar 18 Reply The Nik Collection is now a free download from Google at https://www.google.com/nikcollection/ so maybe rerunning the download may help. I haven't had any problems with it.
Google are stopping this service in the future, but it's being taken over by DxO who are developing a new version of it, to be released later this year, but for now Google are still providing it. Hope that helps.

34 Mar 18 Comment A good result. You've created much more interest in the image than was evident in the original.
I like the rust effect and the overall 'aged' look of the image.
Well done.

34 Mar 18 Comment Well revisited. Using the curves preset is something I haven't done for years. Thanks for the reminder. The change is quite spectacular - and so easy using the preset.
Helicon Focus looks interesting and useful for macro photography. Thanks for the info.

34 Mar 18 Comment What a fine image and an excellent treatment. I like the off centre sprig, which makes it just off symmetrical.
Personally I'd have preferred more vibrant colours, to suggest spring and new life with the unfurling leaves, but I can see that your interpretation works well.
Well done.

34 Mar 18 Comment This is excellent. I think you've got the composition spot on. It's well planned and well executed. I like the man's shadow - it really gives the image depth.
Is this the end of the journey or the start? Going from the leaves of autumn suggest it's the end, but going into the light suggests the start!
I did a similar thing many years ago and called it 'coda' (it's a self image of sorts!) and decided that even though it was into the light, it was still the last passage.

34 Mar 18 Comment What an excellent play thing! Using different layers and blend modes with this is just so much fun. Experimenting with the different symmetries on the various layers adds to it! I can see it being useful for portrait backgrounds.
Thanks for the instruction - now it's a matter of how much time to spend playing!
This is the result of about 30 minutes:
