34 Feb 18 Reply The challenge came from our daughter, so the result is for her! Feb 23rd
34 Feb 18 Reply Here's one from the local rag - they also like ice cream and photographers! Feb 17th
34 Feb 18 Reply Thanks Jan
The idea was to show the gull as a major part - we have gull muggings, where they dive and take peoples fish and chips (it's an odd custom to eat them in the open, but evidently you can't come to Whitby without doing it - I prefer mine hot and in comfort!).
I see that the Goth seems 'out of synch' I'll have a look at what I can do with her.
Thanks again

34 Feb 18 Comment Love it! Your methods intrigue me and I like the way you bring the pad into play - there's obviously a lot to play with there.
You managed to get the Klimt effect and does it matter that it took a few years to complete? As long as someone else got on with the washing up and cleaning, you've had fun and we can appreciate your talent and the finished image.
Well done yet again!!

34 Feb 18 Comment As you say - a fun project - and a fun result.
The crop is good and the flip is right.
You could play more with it - maybe increase the detail and / or the vibrance / saturation etc.
I used Nik Viveza 2 for the structure and a vibrance layer for the vibrance and saturation. Playing with the blend modes could also provide some surprising results too.

34 Feb 18 Comment Looks like a lot of fun. The result is a big improvement on the original.
I feel that some of the importance of the bird has been lost, so I've brought a bit more detail back, using a layer mask and Viveza 2 to increase the structure and contrast slightly.
I like your result - keep playing!

34 Feb 18 Comment What a lovely effect - I've taken the liberty of posting the web address on the general info page, so we don't lose it. Thanks.
I find the image mesmerising - it's something I must play with (if I can find the time).
Well done and thanks again for sharing the link.

34 Feb 18 Comment An excellent result. The negative preset is a winner to make the foliage stand out. I like the palette too. An image that would look good on the wall.
Well done.

34 Feb 18 Comment An excellent result. You've made her really glow. The background works well - keeping it dark has made her face the focus that's needed.
Well done.
