34 Jan 18 Reply Many of the Goths are indeed very beautiful. They're such a resource for portrait photography - beautiful people with amazing makeup who want to be seen and photographed. The majority of my portraits for exhibition are taken at the festivals, which also have the advantage of being taken outside a studio, so no need for model releases! Jan 26th
34 Jan 18 Comment Well you've already provided the Peace and Joy for 2018 - hopefully the prosperity will come later!
I like what you've done here. The concept is excellent and you've found some excellent letters - I liked the cloud 'E' when I first saw it.
Maybe a texture could balance the colour - I used Topaz Texture Effects > Muddy River at reduced opacity.
Thanks for the message and thanks for a very fine image.
May Peace, Joy and Prosperity be yours too.

34 Jan 18 Comment I agree with Helen about the colours - I'd have been tempted to reduce the saturation on some of the more vibrant parts, which take the attention away from the centre flower.
Other than that - it's a fun image and it looks as though you've had fun doing it - And that's what it's all about!!

34 Jan 18 Comment It looks as though you've had fun with this! The result works.
I'm afraid I'm not too taken with the added texture - I find it's a bit too strong for the image - but of course, that's just my opinion - and you know what judges can be like!

34 Jan 18 Comment An excellent result. You've really brought it to life.
A good tip about the textures to remove the background detail. I've been using Gaussian blur, but it gives a halo when using the mask. Thanks.

34 Jan 18 Comment Well done Christine. You've put a lot of thought into this and it's worked well. I agree that the dress needs darkening a bit, but the image works well.
I'd be tempted to work on the 'girl' part in Lightroom before importing her into the rest of the image - it allows more detail to be brought out and the highlights / whites to be toned beck, to avoid what appears to be 'burning out' here.
Again - well done! (Looks good on Facebook too).
