Hi Helen
If you hit backspace when you've got an active selection, everything that's selected in that layer is deleted. |

Well done Helen. Your treatment is excellent.
I agree with Georgianne about the layer mask. I know you've tried it, but it's worth persevering with. If you'd like any help, please get in touch.
I bet your granddaughter is pleased with it! |

Thanks Candy
Your version looks better too. I think I had altogether too much rush when I composed it - must take things easier! |

Thanks Jan
Your right about the balance of the image. Your version is much better. I must admit that there was something about mine that I wasn't happy about and you've hit it on the head. I think I was too involved with getting the flower into the image because I'd been getting back into macro again! |

I really don't think it matters about the lighting direction in this case - it just adds to the surreal effect.
I think this image is a winner! |

Thanks for sharing such a detailed and interesting procedure.
The results are excellent - the branch now seems to be covered in lichens and the speckle effect is attractive.
The only down side for me, is that the bird has lost it's eye, so I brought it back in, using a layer mask.
Well done! |

I'd move the osprey slightly toward the centre of the image, so it's divorced from the bridge (not touching the structure).
The texture works well and it's a very interesting bridge. Well worked. |

An interesting use of layers and blend modes.
To me it's a background waiting for a point of focus, but an interesting background - or is that a gold downhill skier at the top left ?!! |

Well done. You've made an excellent portrait which shows her character.
The overall image is a bit too dark for my liking, but when you see what you started with, you've worked wonders. And maybe a lighter background would have distracted the attention from Annie.
Toning down her scarf was a good move.
Well done. |

Superb! This is my favourite for this month.
I like the composition - the girl in the boat grabs my attention first, then follow her line of sight to the bird in the tree, then realise that the cage is open and the birds are flying.
The work you've put in to make the boat and the invented sky along with the rainbow on the bird have really set it off.
OK - we could pull things to bits. Mainly in the light directions which aren't consistent, but I don't think that matters. After all it's a dreamscape.
The flower's reflection is immaterial, because it's just a dream anyway and I think what you've done is fine.
Well done on a very well worked image which makes me smile. |
