Ruth, I thought I sent some info, but don't see it. Herte it is. This was taken from a grouping of at least three different nests in Alameda, CA which has a rookery. March is the best time to go. Another rookery in Newark, CA had another rookerwhich 10 years ago was filled with young parents. Now it is almost empty. I hope the Alameda Rookery has fared better. |

Mary Ann, I think that adding the two additional photos and blending them has given a final photo that ia perhaps more interesting than the original, but since I do't see the original it is a little hard to judge. His eye is hidden under his mane, which is too bad, but I love his twisted body which gives more excitement to the image. The hills which you introduced add a great deal to the overall, producing a new environment for the horse, while the other original adds a feeling of the wind whipping the animal. Perhaps he enjoys it; who know Nice capture. |

I love that you picked the old cherry tree, still valiantly putting out its beautiful pink flowers, and the younger trees further along the Basin. I believe your composition to be good using the old tree as a frame for the rest of the photo. As for color or black and white, I would prefer color as the cherry blossoms are pink and really stand out better in color. However, the easiest way to decide is to just turn it into a monochrome and see how it compares. Nice image, well doe. A very small nit-pic would be to cut in sightly from the right to remove the thin strip of white on the side of the tree. |

Ruth, Sorry for all the typos. Was in a hurry and my eyes are bad, as you know. You were mot very specific in what you did in Lightroom, etc. but your final product looks entirely different from the original which had terrible lighting. Job well does, |

Robert, What a great job you have done on that original photo. I could hardly find the bucks in it at all because it was so filled with brush and surrounding vegetation, all at the same tonality. Cropping as you did and darkening the surroundings made all the difference. I notice how sharp the two bucks are. Your description of their actions was quite interesting. You did a marvelous renovation with a really confusing original photo. |

I haven't looked at what the others had to say yet. I find the changes that you made extremely well done, You can tell it's fall, partly by the trees around the field and partly fro the color of the grape vines. A perfect time to photograph there. The composition is excellent also, The only change I might suggest is to cut off the immediate foreground up to the start of the vineyard itself, as it is not so important that we know the edges of the field, but that you can get the feeling it is stretching out forever. Very well done. |

RFuth, You have made a totally undistinguished image into a winner.I assume a combination of cropping and lightening worked for this.

Robin, From what I can see, most of the reflection is around the head of the model, maybe a little at the bottom right, but my eyes are not good enough to make out the fine details. I like that the reflection falls on ad around the face of the model. This is one of the few examples of an excellent creative image straight from the camera. Good seeing and a great capture. |

Nadia, This is quite a good construction of several elements. Although all make sense in the title Abandoned, somehow this combination doesn't quite go together.in my opinion. I think the old truck and the big tree are somehow incompatible. I do like the Bird on the tree to give it a more haunting appearance. Maybe the truck needs to look older than it already does.. Not sure, but I get this feeling of not quire making it as a single image. Sorry about that. The technical work is excellent, in any case. |

The use of high key makes this image different and creative. The three images you gave us are fairly similar. I never saw the B&W image, but my eyes are bad and perhaps one of the originals was in monochrome. The use of the panoramic frame is perfect. In fact, you might be able to crop off a little more of the sky, not too much. The idea of an old passenger car is intriguing. |

I'm glad you found the older file. It was a great start for a creative image. The cropping and the introduction of an inner glow, works really well. I have no suggestions to make it better. Good job. |

P.S. You could also make the stationary flower brighter and that might be enough to separate it from the background. |

Haze;l, I ike the concept. the method could be different, but to making the flower stationary and moving the camera. The flower would then be also moved around. You could do it with two images. One which depicts the motion of the flower for a background and the other a single, stationary shot of the flower. That would also give you the opportunity to change the color of the flower., Blend in PS the two. I tend to also think that there is too much red and the image would require some other color. However, the final product is definitely interesting and creative. Keep trying new ideas. Good job. |

Brad, Your final image is quite thoughtful. The doubling an.d flipping of the original works well, with the exception of of the two suns. I wonder if it would make sense to remove one of the suns And maybe a little more light on the priest. Otherwise, it is a wonderful conception and very well execute. Good job. |
