Bob,
These birds are definitely ibis, not herons. The curved long beak gives then away. Check it out by looking at photos of white ibis. I ran into a rookery one of the in a single tree, can't remember where, and they are impressive because they are not anywhere as common as great egrets or other herons.

Mary Ann, I like your cropping. What a wonderful chance for egret horse photos. And they are wild so theoretically the could be used I Nature. Anyway,, glad you were able to get there. My age now precludes this for me. I suggest that ou crop way in to the horses and not worry so much about the background. I am attaching a crop that would work perhaps, and the camera should be able to handle the cropping without showing Andy problems. Lucky you.
The other thing is that there are two horse not the left right on top of each other. I assume you had plenty of tie and perhaps could have waited until the hoses were not blocking each other. |

After I read the other comments and your response about the bird, I wanted to add a few thoughts. The bird is a real one, after all. Well, the Hly Spirit materializes itself frequently in cemeteries. Secondly, the castle being included is very important as this is, I believe, the famous home of the Pope at one point, so the connection of the suture and the castle are almost required.I vaguely remember about a secret tunnel route under the castle for the Pope to escspe, if necessary. |

This statue is an excellent capture of it and the castle behind it. good balance, sharpness, compassition and Exposure. The story of the bird is extremely interesting to me as I have been to many cemeteries.Especially, the main cemetery in Havana, Cuba has many lovely statues ad many of them had a real bird on the head or highest point of the statue. I first thought because of the coloring that your bird was a red bird, as well. I can see why many might think that it represented the Holy Spirit. |

This rookery is one of white ibis, not herons which makes it all the more intriguing. I like that the birds are in a variety of different poses, flying, abut go fly and aching nests. It's busy area for the ibis, and rhwy are really paying attention to their nests. Be careful about the white wings and backs as it is very easy to blow out the highlights. Nice job spotting the grouping of the birds. |

Abdullah, Nice to have you as one of our group.
Not knowing much abut chess, I had the impressopm that om a really; chess gave. the ;loser, usually draped that piece that had been last played to show his defeat. I don't think you were implying this so it is also not necessary to have the chess board shown Your concept is a good gone and very creative. The only suggestion I have is to clone out the white blob in the upper left as it is distracting. Nice job of coming up with something clever to show us first thing. |

Andres, nice job. The horsed rider go over the high jump with little strain as shown here. That must be at least a four foot fence, pretty spectacle;ar/ I think that your angle is perfect. My only question is how bright is the ice of the rider. Since I have AMD and find that many photos appear darker to e than to those with normal eyes, it could just be that. I an glad your good the tine to find the best shot that you could even with the two days of viewing. The horse and rider are clearly good jumpers. |

Bob, This is creative in that using the horses as the frame for the water is unusual ad gives a feeling of mystery to the image. I Cann't quite see how you combine the two rough waters into one. I would suggest removing the shadow at the lower center in the water by replacing that part of the water with the more torrential flow in the second photo original. I do think it is acceptable as a creative image, if only because your cropping of the horses is so dynamic. Interesting idea. |

Robin, Sorry to be so late in the comments. I like your concept of the acopolypse, but am not too sure about the mask as one of the three factors making this image. I really love the tree, especially the broken branch ad the crosses. Maybe more crosses on the other side would work better. The teeth of the mask is a bit off-putting for me. I also love the colors, the red bringing in the feeling o fire ad brimstone. Good idea and, in general, good composite. |

Nice work, Jan. The mood of this diptych works so well with the border. At first I thought it was a big trunk of a tree in the middle, but that's just my eyes. The feeling of loneliness of the girl is emphasized by the foggy winter scenery and you have achieved a feeling that one could look at for a long time.. |

Ian,
I like your flames effect from Topaz. Better than the the suggestion by Bob. It must be traveling very fast. I like that you took it from above, nice angle. The white lines look like other oils to e, so don't bother e. I like it jus the way it is. As you know I'm not a fan of filter changes alone to make creative photo, but in this case, the filter is so different fro a normal oe, that it makes the train much different looking and much more exciting. |
