Mary Ann, What a lovely place to be, Lake Louise. Your composition is fine, but despite all of the work you did to reduce the brightness of the snow, it didn't quite work, art least on my monitor. I would have tried to reduce the brightness using Highlights in the ACR filters to see how that went first. You could start with your lowest exposure and just ignore the "correct" and brighter one altogether.Naot sure what else to say exxxcept with that much bright sn ow, I would probably add 1 to 2 eve fwhile photographing to see how that goes.. It sounds backwards, but I think that's what I was told many years ago. O jp[e ups enjoyed your wonderful trip.Looking at it again, I'm wondering if using a polarizer would have cut the brightness in the water. |

What a surprising discovery so far away from Venice. . The thing that bothered me a bit was that everything was on the right side and nothing on h left. So I played with it a bit. I cropped the left side so , maybe, anther side of the Venice street could be found; also the bottom. I added some vibrance to it as h col ors are of paramount imagined. You had aa lovely sky, which helps, but I just wanted to play al bit. Nice find. |

Ruth, You've don a marvelous job of isolating the flowers so that they stand out from the background. I have no suggestions as this is perfect, in my view. I also like that you incorporated. two buds, which are well placed. Congratulations.. |

Robert,
I an a nearby resident of San Francisco, so I have seen many night shots of the city. You have done your best taken from where you were and cropping out the stuff on the left was crucial. I am wondering why there are so few lights defining the city, usually you can catch more windows lighted. That next time you go to SF, try shooting earlier in the evening when there is still the blue light. . The building with the blue is the Salesforce Building which is th tallest in SF. Maybe cropping in even more would brighten out more lights. As is, the photo looks a little soft to me, but my eyesight is not good, so it could be that |

Andres, This really gives the flavor of Iceland. I have never been. there but have seen many images of it. You ca feel the cold coming through in your image well. I think your biggest problem is that the weather, which does show the climate well, was not on your side for taking an exciting Landscape. This one could be part of a slide show of the island country You might try cutting out most of the sky, which despite the clouds, is bright. and takes away from the land areas. I like that you used a puddle or small lake to get some reflections ad the use of the yellow flowers helps. |

Bob, I love the bright colors and interesting plot you have achieved. The archness adds to the feeling of The Scream. I have a couple of suggestions. I know. that you have been working on this for some time, so I apologize. . I would suggest that we show a mouth similar to the one in Munch's artwork and get rid of the brownish area over her head. I am attaching a very poor rendition, having used the clone tool o remove the browning arch. but in any case I love what you are achieving that is so unlike what we are seeing in the originals. |

Robin,, Yo have done a lot of work on this image and, I believe, you have achieved your goal. The doll]s face takes one aback initially, but it makes sense in the concept of the image. The use of sepia gives it a long-ago look, This is beautifully put together. I feel the birds work well here and making the background dark behind the model really makes her stand outThere's a real feeling of nostalgia her that you have caught with your hard work. |

Jan, This is very subtle and fits the creative definition n well I love your piquant facein the lower blossom. I'm not sure you need the top of the orchid, although it does make it all the more mysterious to find your lovely lady hiding down there. Nice work. |

Karen,
I love both photos and I admire your intent to create a vintage picture free the original. Maybe it would work better if you changed toe format to sepia, which would certainly make it more vintage looking. I say that because, as it is, it doesn't look like a creative image to me, just adjustments to the original to improve it. I am the nasty one in this group who complains that many of the images I have seen are not really creative. I would like to see this further afield from the original. If you look at the definition of creative you will seee that just applying a sipe correction or filter does not really qualify. But both images should do well in pictorial. |

Ian, what a difference! From dull to vibrant. our reflection in the water does match what Nature does, usually it is somewhat darker that the items b ing reflected, so that doesn't bother me. I believe your final outcome is perfect and I have no suggestions for improvement.
