Mary Ann,
What an wonderful opportunity. Thank you, Mr. Deer. The original lighting was horrible, very bright in parts of the image and dark in other parts. That made it quite difficult to get any kink of lighting that really brought out the animal's best features.
I think you did a good job on trying to achieve this, but the final product was a bit washed out. Michael's work was difficult and not all of us could do that kind of manipulating in Photoshop. If you try his net hods, it would be a good attempt to learn new ways to work I Photoshop. So, worth a try. |

Camels are one of. my favorite animals. Having seen a number of film is which they do the work and are so good about it, on my bucket list was to ride on a camel. My age now precludes this unfortunately, I think yo u took an excellent shot of the the lovely lady on the camel with the. house of great decoration being pulled behind. The colors which are predominantly of yellow tones are appropriate for the geographic area. I guess you didn't have time to take a lot of shots of this particular camel as his head is a little too close to the edge for my comfort. Otherwise, charming and what a set of photo opportunities you must have had. |

Ruth I like your B and W version of the dunes as they make perfect monochrome images because of the contrast. The one tiny person gives us an important idea of the scale. My only suggestion would be to remove the top layer with t he trees and just show us the dunes.. I wrote this connect before reading the rest of them, but I still stick to it. |

Robert,
the fact that a blue bird is there in winter is very edifying. I thought they went further. South, but there he is. I wish he were coming in rather than going out but it is nice to know that he got a good snack, Great idea to take pictures of birds in the winter and I particularly liked the idea of a heated waterbacth. What will they think of next?I see that R ruth did hav the bird coming in. And, I agree, it depends o what story the makers wants to tell. |

This is ny fourth attempt to Reply. For sone reason the info I sent disappears. I will keep this simpler. No photo. The shot was taken partly in shade, so the bluish cast..Also my camera is set o maximum vibrance in the menu. I removed the bluish cast using Hue-Saturation in the blues and cyans, setting the saturation to zero.

Michael,, Great Street photograph. I see you're using a Leica reminiscent of Cartier- Bresson. You have grabbed a wonderful shot. I love the angle you achieved and the unknowing relaxed stage of the woman. Not only coffee, but the wine bottle with glasses. Are those always on the tables? Also unusual are her hands, which seem to have been badly scratched up. I wonder what her story is. The questions posed by an excellent photo will keep the viewer guessing and studying the image for some time. Good work. |

Your composition is excellent the diagonal lines of Etna against the cloud bank with a part of te mountain. sticking up out of the clouds makes a nice balance. When I first looked at it I thought it was B Y W, but that's my bad eyesight. First impression was a wonderful felling of molten silvery streams, which is lovely. I think that darkening the rock sticking up helps balance it even better. Glad you told us what it is. I had been to Etna many years ago and also appreciated the great volcano. |

Bob, First of all I missed that you were recovering from something. I hope you are really feeling better.
As for your image, I like that you made the background blurry so the attention would end up on the seagull. I noticed that the people in the original were probably tourists like you, so they either needed to be removed or blurred out, as you did. The concept of a gull at school is pretty out of the box. Maybe you could have a number of gulls, one on the steps as shown, one in the doorway and one at the window inside. Not sure what else to suggest. A good try and composite. |

Good concept. Not so good production. I agree that you could have chosen a more interesting female figure, mot so bent over and, yes, Ian, without clothes.
At first I thought it was a flower cup, rather than n an eggshell. The other half of the shell old have helped, but I guess the bird didn't think to leave it.. For starters, I would suggest cropping off the whole right half of the image, too much grass for my taste.
However, your concept is excellent, so I would work on it some more and submit it again. |

Gunter, This is so lovely, The colors, and lines wok so well together. The inspiring design , which reminds me of a tomato falling from the vine, ,really hit my excitement button. There is a simplicity to this that. intrigues me. I love it just the way it is. Great work! |

I see an owl with big wings. Using four duplicates of an image and putting them together is a lot of fun. Possibly, the scratching sections could be replaced with some sod color or colors, which would reduce the busyness. I , however, do not think this is busy. I wold just suggest adding a few more colors. Your final product is quite lovely and I enjoy looking at it. |

Ian, You really pulled this off well. No observable relationship to the roof original. I think the colors work together and they certainly make your final image stand out. The amplification of sine curves has a lot to be said for it. I prefer your version of the larger ones on top but I understand where the other version comes from. Good job! |
