I have to kick myself in the head once more. The capital of Chilie is Santiago, not Valparaiso. W hat was I thinking? |

Mary Ann, This must be wine and cider month. with a touch of pumpkin spice. Tje grapes you chose are perfectly ripened and purple grapes are so much more exciting than green grapes on the vine. You were a bit hamstrung by the lighting here. How much better if the light were direct instead of behind the grapes. It also caused a fair amount of bright scattered highlights that drag your eyes away from the bunch. I suggest that you crop in a bit more from the right side and darken the highlights that are distracting. You might also consider using either the dodge tool or a mask to lighten the grape bunch, so we can enjoy them even more. |

I just read Michael's comments and if you look closely you can see the stream of liquid from the keg through the air and into the glass. That's fabulous. |

You've got a great journalism photo here with excellent handling of the lighting. You chose just the right place to be so that we could easily see the process of pouring the cider. Sounds so good. Choosing to include the huge kegs was done so well to show us the huge kegs that hold the cider. I have no suggestions for improvement. |

Perfect time of year for this. I admire you for getting down low to emphasize the foreground pumpkins, yet produce the feeling that the patch went on forever into the background,. The only suggestion I have would be to use the Highlights filter in ACR to reduce the reflections on the pumpkins and give it more of a look that you used a polarizer. |

I'm so glad you got to the museum in Bilbao.I always wanted to see what Gehry had done there. It was one of his earlier buildings, I think. I like the way the light plays off the various shapes he created. I hope you took lots of photos. The image seems a bit soft to me, which could be a combination of the slow shutter speed and high ISO that you used. Was this taken at night? What do they have inside the museum? So many questions., Good job. |

Michael,
You are right, of course. Valparaiso is indeed the capital of Chile. My bad. Also, I don't see the white line around the image. I may have sent an earlier one. We also visited Argentina and its capital, Buenos Aires. We didn't usually take cruises, but a friend wanted us to join her, and we had never been to South America, so it sounded like a fun idea. |

Michael,
I wish you had given us more information about what is going on there. At first I thought it was an operating room, and I guess,. in a sense, it is. I like the concentration that the two wine experts are giving to their work, but I couldn't
figure ou what they were doing. Please expand to let us know what
is going on. An interesting journalism subject. The lighting works so well for you. |

These are big turtles, and I a so glad you saw him or her I like the placement in the frame and that you sh owed the environment of the sea. We went many years ago to Costa Rica, where I was gratified to watch the laying of the eggs of one of those hug sea turtles, as well as a group of babies emerging from their shells and running down the beach to the water. I have no suggestions to improve you image. Glad you were alable to see them and photograph them. |

Robin,
It looks like the crew has outdone itself this round to put together some really creative iagfges. yours is in the highest creative range for quite a few reasons. First the concept is very creative and sophisticated. Second your extraction methods are expert. Your collage looks like everything was already there. Very well executed. As an overall concept, you went beyond my Bain range as the overall concept is very hard fro me to read. I'm not sure you need the black line separating the two segments; maybe they could be a single panel. The photograph and watch are interesting artifacts to refer back yo the past . I am not finding where it says "crying." Again, it may be my bad eyesight, The upper left of the graffiti looks like it starts out with "cry" but then dissipates into something else. The use of the monument in the foreground does not impart a feeling of many dead, so perhaps it is not necessary. Altogether, though, this is an intriguing image, full of symbolism and darkness which goes with your theme. |

Guhter,
I love this one, It is a try abstract and the yellow-green feathers combined with the bubble-like circles of different sizes and colors, make this image fascinating. Because of the bubbles, it reminds me of an underwater photo . You have done a marvelous job here of going from some simple feathers to something that really catches one's attention. The composition is good with the three feathers at a diagonal and the many bubbles. Although you started with feathers, they no longer look like them, so maybe come up with a different title. |

Gary,
I love your big grin and how you created it. I can't quite figure out how original 2 made such a simple combination with original 1. I would love to know what blending modes you used to achieve this. It looks like a building of some kind that was blended, not the colorful with cows original 2. Could you please clarify? I would be fascinated with the blending modes you chose. Good job. |

Ian,
You came up with a very colorful final image which runs rings around the original, which is pretty bland. It now makes me feel cheerful despite the election loss last night to Trump. Yellow is always a happy color and it wants to make me see the inside of the mansion also. |

Bob,
Sounds like you went to a lot of work to create this. Maybe because of my macular degeneration I am having a problem finding the ship in the final image. Can you give me more information about where it would be? In any case, it becomes an abstract with many flowing lines, probably from the liquify filter, and is quite interesting. I also like the original of the Japanese garden.. Perhaps you sent the wrong final to Ian, or please let me know because the schooner looks like it would be sure remarkable added to the image. |
