Kristi,
Only you in this group would think to see something in what most people would totally ignore. Since my eyesight is failing with macular degeneration, I at first though it was a rock with greenery in the front, but after reading your description, I realized it was indeed a black plastic cover. I prefer your current cropping as, to me, it is well-balanced. The "guardian" is a great title for this. I am glad you showed us something that is reminiscent of spring. I have to admit that I don't even see any wire fencing. Sorry I can't be of more help. |

Rick,
Your dahlia has become alive. It reminds me of an animal that is showing off its beautiful coat. the colors are remarkable. You have kept or made it dark around the flower with just the frame to make the whole thing stand out even more. Great job!

Christine, Your photo is quite beautiful with the sunset reflection in the water. It's good that the water reflection is darker than the part taken in the sky as that is how it usually works. I particularly like the way the reflection in the ripples occurs. Just the right amount of ripples. I agree with Kristi about the two red dots on the left. I expect that was an oversight. You were lucky and a good photographer to get such a remarkable photo. |

Brian,
The while areas around the umbrella are dripping rain, not a white background. Sp gad ups are OK. I was getting worried as you usually give us your comments early o. Thanks for them. |

Hazel,
Glad you liked the Death Valley image. I used a number of images taken at the same day to try to construct the curved path. It was very difficult to make it look realistic. I may have shown this earlier on DD #21. I was using the clone tool mostly. |

Peter, Thanks for the kind commentary. there is always the question of doing int for camera club or for yourself and I think it should be a balance between the two. We do
t often get to show off our images outside of camera club, unfortunately. I spent a lot of time creating what should have been a creative image. It wa of one of the tracks at the racecourse in Death Valley but it make the track curve around and head back in the opposite direction. I trtried it twice in CC, but neither judge got it. They both thought it wa real. Clearly neither had ever been to the racetrack. It was disappointing because it had taken so long to MAKE it look realistic. I had picked up the idea from John Paul Capinegro whose rendition was cute lovely, but didn't look so realistic. |

It also reminds me of those balls you see on executive desks which bounce against each other. |

Mike,
I love your flower cube. You have done a great job putting it together and that must have taken a lot of work. There is nothing here to criticize. My only comment is that the next thing is to invest a game to use them. You have theoretically six different sides whose combination as dice could possibly make some money for you. Maybe the ladies would take to crops more eagerly. |

Hazel,
We see you finally lost your PM. Sounds a bit like Trump. Well, my political bias is showing through. Your photo is excellent for pictorial. . The muted colors, the sharp angle, the removal of the busy backgrounds, all help to bring it into strong competition. I'm not so sure about the creative aspect. The question we have previously discussed briefly is whether the use of filters or textures alone brings an image into the creative category. To me this is a beautiful pictorial image , but not a strong in creative. |

Skip, What a great idea! A cartoons who does Zits is also using this concept, but with choose the caption. So they actually had the heads there at the museum. Well, good for the for thinking of it and good for you f for making it still more interesting. The only suggestion I have is to leave more room on the primary statue fro the head to be in place. I think this is also a common suggestion for nature when he photo os a n animal is cut a bit too much so there is no longer room for his legs to be extended in the grass, as an example.. |

Brian,
I love this picture. So creative. The only thing I would like to see is a break in the frame holding the spheres inside so that one actually can escape, either by breaking through or finding an escape route. I am showing what I mean.
Also for the people in the US, it is very appropriate for this week.
Thanks. |
