I like these candid photos, especially when worked on a bit to bright out the best lighting. I'm surprised the kids weren't dressed in costumes , but maybe it was before Halloween. The blond girl looking at the guide draws the most attention because of the twist of her head and the light in her eye. Interesting that only one person was wearing a mask. I assume because of that it was during the covid crisis. I might have darkened the background a bit, especially the door and stuff toward the ceiling. It might also have given it a bit more feel of fright.

Rick,
So lovely. The curve made perhaps with your wide-angle lens brings our eye directly to the flowers. The colors are wonderful and, I suspect, made even more so by the dark sky which is a wonderful ploy for the bright colors. Furthermore, the clouds are so interesting in and of themselves. The cleft in them on the upper left leads your eyes again right to the flowers. Beautiful job. |

Jeri,
How did you get the rainbow effect on the flower? I wold like to know. It's quite beautiful As for the upper left corner, it doesn't bother me either. The overall image makes me feel like a real artist had been putting in very colorful brush strokes. Very lovely. Fills the frame so well. |

Janice, I had no idea you were in the fire way. I am also a Californian in the Bay Area, so far we have not had anything threatening, although thee was a small fire about 10 miles away. The scary part is that no matter what, it could affect you at any time. I am frightened that next year we will have another drought year and I envision all of CA up in flames. PG &E had better get its act together.
I wish you the best of outcomes on any fire in the future. Stay safe. |

Hi, All,
I had all of these elements because it was fun. I wasn't trying to have it look realistic, but rather just the opposite. When I put in the giraffe,, I deliberated whether I should just let him stand or actually put his head within the eclipse (sun, by the way). This does break up the concept of the eclipses but I wanted to have all kinds of things going on to fit the title. What can I say? I also spent a lot of time making the lighting so it would fit the light coming from the eclipse. The upper half of the giraffe and front of the gorilla and the balloon are all showing brightness emanating from the sun. The crowd is there to enjoy the crazy antics. |

The concept of finding wave patterns that provide us with an abstract is a good idea. I'm not sure how creative this is, although I appreciate the beauty of the waves and green colors in the water. The white water waves have a good foundation w with the less rigorous foreground, which acts as their support. It makes me want to look at this for a long time, because it really is beautiful. |

Hazel,
Sorry I got the two images mixed up. In the future, please, everyone, label clearly which is the final and which are the originals.
I think you concept is great. the fire and the tulip work perfectly together because of the colors and the motion that you introduced. I think you have done a stellar job here and can't think of any suggestions for improveement. |

Steve,
The addition of colors certainly gets your attention. The use of the two bright colors makes the image a bit flat looking to me, partly because the purple seems to hide the shading underneath it. A few suggestions that might make it a bit stronger:
(1) straighten the image (2) crop out some of the carriage on the left, but leave the one on the right. (3) Crop out some of the foreground. The original photos makes you thing of a historical event, but maybe it was the horses and carriages for the tourist trade.

This was quite a production,. I am curious how the dahlia fits in here as the flower looks like it's facing forward, Anyway, when I first saw it, I did think of bathroom sinks, but it also has , with the three units, the aspects of a face, which is full.
A smiley face with google eyes. Somehow reminds me of Pluto the dog, The background is quite interesting in its graphic elements. Sort of like tile in the bathroom, oops! It's amazing how as one plays along, you can come up. with some lighting interesting images. That's one of the best things about creative. |

Brian,
I like the way your gave us an in camera motion shot. The blue tulip definitely catches your attention. There are actually blue tulips I believe, as well as purple hued ones. I'm thinking that maybe a lighter color would bring me into your dreamscape a little better. I wonder how yellow would do, or the proverbial red? Blue and green go well together, however, it's just that the darkish blue is a bit depressing for something that should be joyful. We all need some joy now. |
