Rick,
Once again, a great composite. My favorite type of creative compositions are composites. For one thing, you have to figure out in advance what you are doing, which takes some creative energy. Your rendition of the planet is great and I would like to know how to created it as I have been trying to make spheres with poor results in PS. There was a third party program which I can't find anymore. Your concept of carrying off the planet on the flying carpet is really something. Maybe working with the two men and placing them more to the back of the carpet would give more balance, but you were probably constrained by the photo of them. I really like the bright sphere over their heads and the way you added bright circles to the left giving a feeling of motion. The sky I find quite lovely and fills our brains with the immensity of the universe. I have to admit that I'm not such a fan of the big frames, but I know you love them. All in all, a wonderful and unusual image.1 |

Bob,
This is Avery pleasant image, and I have to say that I do like it with the boat on the left removed. It looks like you did a pretty good job with the removal. The pinkish-red building helps bring out the red on the boat even more. Just a wonderful time of day to take this shot. You did a great job with the camera equipment you had with you. |

Jeri,
It is actually an egret posing as a swan. That's the main reason I liked it. Your ideas of extrating the bird and making a more interesting background are very useful. If I find time. Thanks for your comments

Hi, All,
I just wanted to mention that Jeri didn't specify which of the two she preferred. I meant to put the "original" image in as the first choice of mine, but didn't differentiate them properly. They both look good enough to eat, especially now with the difficult to getting peppers delivered to the home. The colors are great. I like how you cropped them. The second one has a stem showing which gives it a bit more interest. The highlights can be expected; they are a smooth skinned vegetable. If you want to get rid of them you need to go into Photoshop or Lightroom. I usually pick a color of a nearby area, then set the opacity to 20% or less and brush carefully on the image. Another option is to use the clone tool at a low opacity. Use a soft brush of course.

Barrie,
Since I know the area, I like what you had done with it originally. A simple posterization can really make a difference. Both Brian's version and Peter's version also work well, but I have no problem with the original. It might have been nice to see the original color image for comparison.
Welcome back, Barrie. |

The simple green and black image is really strong. I agree with Brian that we have the he'd of something with teeth or a sharp beak which gives it life. His revision is good for the reasons he gave, but you have done a great job with a simple image that really catches the eye of the beholder.

You have come up with something that maybe you didn't think of. The final product looks like a locomotive from some Disney-like film. Seeing that it came from a train in the first place, really makes it appropriate. I love the colors and the feeling of motion coming from the pinkish streaks coming out from the "locomotive." |

The final output of the race horses is wonderful. You have achieved a strong sense of motion that was missing in the original. You have created the look of panning the horses so that the background is a wonderful streakiness. I like how you had the legs, especially disappear with the motion feeling. Very nicely done. |

I also missed saying, that you have achieved a great three-dimensional effect. Well done! |

Brian,
Your creative brain flows over into your poetry. Can't tell which I like the best. I did need a hint to realize those were wine glasses. I was thinking eyeglasses from your title. The eye seems to work well with the overall impression of the out of focus and well-placed wine glasses. This definitely needs to be in monochrome. It is for me a form of art and well-fitted to go into a publication. I wish you the best on publishing by Christmas. With this virus going around, it sounds like a wonderful project, perfect for this time. |
