Rick,
Whatever you did in Topaz has produced a magical feel to this image. It doesn't look contrived, but it makes me think of a place like in the Wizard of OZ, something really unusual. The colors on the pots and the trees gives it a somewhat other worldly look. It's just so nice gazing down this path that leads to where your imagination takes you. |

Bob,
The merging of the clouds in the sky and the reflection in the water acts an an incredibly strong set of leading lines to the buildings. I would not crop the water, even though the "horizon" is in the center because the strength of the incipient lines in the sky ad reflection really pull you into the center of interest, the red building. If you crop at all, I would suggest a bit on the right and left, rather than the water.
Very nice image; you had perfect weather for this. |

Incredibly sharp. He looks so soulful and a bit sad. I guess any animal in captivity has a certain despondency to him. You took a wonderful image. Your eyes are drawn right into his eyes and you wonder what he's thinking. He has a gray beard like an older man, so I assume he has been there a long time. Great photo that really captures the thinking mechanism of the chimp. |

Peter,
I had to comment on this immediately as I appreciate your following my example. I had the same thing happen with the judge. I guess we had our images looking too realistic.
Anyway, You did a great job with this. The viewer looks very real. I wonder if we made it hazy or twisted or something if it would've done better in creative.
I like the variations on the dahlia you created. It took a lot of work. Not sure what the black thing is behind the woman. Is she carrying that?
Great job! |

Phillipa,
What a lot of work and a creative idea!
I think it would be even better if you had cropped out all of the outsides so it looked more like a real waterfall, but what a job you did! I also cloned in "water" so that the black stand doesn't show.
I am including my version for your thoughts
