I'm glad people still recognize the value of old-time values, such as bringing this old window to the US. Was is put in a winery? The blue reflection (?) was perfect with all of the other gold colors, pure complementary color range. I like that everything is straight, and the window is offset from the center. That all works well to produce a lovely image.

Whatever you did, it now looks like a real painted color image, which is amazing. The colors are intriguing and work so well together. So much better than the original, which also isn't bad. I wonder how the Topaz app knew to do skin colors.
Anyway, a triumph. |

Sorry to be so late. We had our FotoClave weekend which I was running and am still wrapping up.
I love this photo! Aside from the bird filling the frame perfectly, the background is exquisite. Can't find any suggestions to make it any better. It's a real winner. |

Phillipa,
So sorry to be so late this month. I was in charge of a weekend long photo conference which just took all of my time. It was last weekend, I'm happy to say, and it went pretty well.
Both you and Brian sound like you have had some tough times. I really hope for both of you that recovery is permanent.
Your image is truly inspirational. You must be very talented as an artist, as well as a photographer. Picking just the right area of the face to use as a foil, covering it with writing material, the lines, the angles and the blue eyes that come through about it all are just a wonderful combination. I personally don't feel that it needs more space in front. It is a design, in my opinions, and not a real person. |

How much better with these exciting colors! I fail to detect a green layer at all. I do agree with Brian that the pink, which used to be white, blob should be removed. This can be done easily in PS and, I assume, Lightroom.
But the strong diagonal of the blue bricks is excellent, making a great contrast with the reddish tiles. The leaves now have wonderful color and really highlight the feeling of autumn. Interesting that two images this time were taken in Holland. |

It reminds me of an object sinking into quicksand, although in this case it seems to be flowers. The car is incongruous, but I guess that's what they wanted. Your treatment is excellent, great exposure; the use of the oil painting mode works quite well for this, It still makes me feel like I need to rescue it. I wonder if it could grab a piece of wood? |

I'm glad you all had so much fun with this image. I apologize for not getting back. I was in charge of a big photographic weekend called FotoClave which was last weeding and am still recovering and still doing work for it.
Anyway, I like Phillipa's the best. Next round I will submit something I did with it, making spheres that aren't really spheres but the best I could do without a program that will do it for me properly.
Thanks again all,
Joan |
