This is back to one of your great composites. I am enjoying it totally. You have achieved a feeling of depth with your many different framing effects. Gonzales is a fun image. Where did you get the cabinet card for him? The only think I might change is the canvas frame next the the image as it is a bit too raggedy for my taste and also because it is a light color it tends to bring us forward instead of backward.

Those are the most interesting contrails I have ever seen. Can't believe they're all clouds. I think you did a good job with your composition. There's a nice softness to the image and the graffiti actually helps give it a lot more interest. Your water tower is in a good position and the angle you chose was spot on. |

This is truly beautiful. I love it. It fills the frame perfectly and the background is also nicely out of focus with good colors that fit. I wouldn't suggest any changes.
really great work! |

The light aspen is where the sunlight was hitting it in a narrow line, so the rest was meant to be darker. I liked the thin line of sunshine. I'll attach the original picture for you so you can see what I was thinking about. |

Oh, vertigo! Your technique is quite interesting and a good idea to work totally in camera. The buildings, I assume, are a great backdrop to the image. I particularly like the ones with lights on. The kid or person looks up to the task of withstanding the rotation. The bright sky is a little bit distracting to me. However, I congratulate you on trying something new which has great potential. |

This has a lot of impact. What you did with the original is so much better. The blocking of colors works well for me. Your process has simplified a very busy photo and made it into a painting. Good work! |

I see you are emulating Bert's technique, giving us a solarization, which is interesting. I'm not sure that the trees are helping here. I would suggest removing them and sticking with the building. The technique gives a very unusual texturization to the blacksmith shop. |

Nice composition, Barry. I like the softness of the image and that it is reminiscent of a painting. Or a pastel. The few people standing there give us a sense of scale and break up the entrance to the distance occasioned by the nice shot of the Mt. Diablo foothills. |

I just looked up the hats worn by the British guard and they are called bearskins, not busbies according to one source. I am totally ignorant of this but the middle one, especially looks like a British Royal Guard. Your work does inspire me, Brian. I would have liked to have seen the original.
Thanks for keeping us on our toes. |
