A bit offbeat, but that's what thinking creatively is all about. The brightness of the small keyhole definitely draws my eye into the picture making me wonder what's beyond, maybe the seashore. What is the significance of the three nails in the knot?
It conjures up many questions. The textures are lovely, the colors maybe not so much. |

Thank you for introducing me to that lovely Dvorjak song. I had never heard it before. Your image of the moon captures the beauty of her singing so well. The awakening of the moon in the lovely colors of sunset is divine. It could almost have been the sun, but the moon "is just as nice and will suffice." |

Journalism is often forgiven not being tack sharp because the feeling of motion and excitement is more important. I'm glad you showed this to us, a lot of emotion with these kids who most likely do not have the funds for iPhones or such. Think of how much more energy and physical stamina they have than many of ours.
The little girl to the right is just right; she is so excited with this race. It's a delight to see it. |

The time of day, the golden backlighting and the sparkle of tiny droplets in the water really takes this out of the ordinary. I'm going to try some cropping to see if it makes it even better. maybe not. |

The eyes of the lemur really draw your attention, as they do in a regular shot of them. I'm not sure how I feel about the title: For me, a bubble is round and this is more busily shaped. I might have called it, The Primordial Mass.
Good idea and a lot of work on your part. Thanks for sharing. |

The strong distortion of the image, sort of like a fisheye shot, makes it for me. I don't quite get what you did in the colors, but the final outcome works well. I might be tempted to crop off the very top, leaving the people in their distorted view, but removing the distant buildings, which, as was already stated, were getting rather bright. You managed to give us raspberry and blue shadows, a big improvement over black and gray.

This has a very creative feeling to it; the players in the front have almost a clown-like sense to them. The technique, which I admit is not my favorite, does make them stand out well from the crowd. I think your cropping is perfect. The extended arm really helps fill the frame. There is some confusion for me in the area of the ball as part of the foot and the cut between the legs seem to have the same impact. Maybe you should continue to play with this and show us another approach next time. |

You have multiple layers here which work quite well. I particularly like the sky, mountains and first land layer. To me, the lower 1/3 of the image has too much pinky and lighter colors to it, which I'd prefer to see renewed in other colors. The what I call "pinky" colors don't appeal to me in a landscape, I suggest cropping it just below the middle of the picture from the top. That is, the lower third removed.
Good idea, Barrie. |

Sorry to be so late with this. The final outcome of dark and white is quite spectacular. I have to admit that I don't see the horizontal and vertical flips plus another horizontal flip. I see one, anyway. The smoke can do wonderful things; I have never tried it, but have seen quite a few that were remarkable, including yours. The title is perfect. How much they look like Flamenco dancers!
I also loved the diatribe between you and Peter.
