Linda,
The lady is lost amid the bright colors of the mural. You might want to title it "Find Waldo." This is a very exciting image and you have captured it beautifully. For us camera Club folks, we just need look in the golden thirds to find the subject. The large bold print vs many smaller ones, mostly talking about the truth, are quite fun to read. And the juxtaposition of the words give the whole thing a 3D feeling.
Very nicely seen and photographed. |

Nadia,
Your boat with the lifesavers on board is very well-placed in the frame. I like seeing the horizon line of the water, so would clone out only the two green buoys on the right and leave the rest. I gives the viewer a chance to see where they are headed and how vast the sea is. You did a great job with a level horizon and using only a little sky. Your capture of the waves made by the boat is perfect. Good job! |

Charles,
So glad you joined our group. The old house has a wealth of texture aided by the cloudy day, excellent placement, and a strong feeling of the history of our country. Sad that it is now deserted. It tells a strong story of mountain settlers, living there, then leaving to move on to, we hope, better things. You picked the perfect angle for your photo, but I do agree with the others, clone out the two black limbs on the left.
Nice seeing. |

Rick,
You have achieved a Fractalius (app for only PCs) look to your final image using the Topaz filters. It's a lot of fun playing with these third party apps. I do agree with the other commentators that perhaps the bee should be left as in the original, nice and sharp. It would really make him stand out. The monochrome background helps get rid of color conflicts, but to me, it's a little too much. I would crop in even more and maybe put in a dark vignette around the image.
Good thinking. You must have had a good time playing with this. |

Jeri,
I would change the title to simply "Portraits of Two Snowy Egrets." They are tack sharp and I don't think you need to mention the Bridge at all. Let our imaginations place them. The feathers in the mouth of the back one asks the question was he preening? Well placed in the frame and the shadows are handled very well. This is a good example of breaking the rule of odd numbers in an image. One of the strengths is that they are in identical positions, at least from the neck up.
Nicely photographed. Sports mode was a good choice. |
