I love the way the colorful branch of leaves makes us all think of fall. It surrounds and frames your beloved Augustus so well. Interestingly, it's the only thing that spells fall in your image. Nice time of day to take the photo. The branch is placed so that a very sunny spot is covered up which would have taken our eyes away from your beautiful friend. |

Your doggie is so cute and well done. His eyes and nose really stand out and, in fact, it is an outstanding photo. As usual, your use of brushes works very well bringing us right into that adorable doggie face. I also like the thin line within the frame.
Very nice work. |

Alan,
Oops, I meant to tell you that I couldn't find your description of how you did it, but on my part, it has been totally hectic between my husband being treated with radiation for total scalp squamous cancer and helping set up a photographic weekend in early November. So my brain is going.
So I will comment on it based on not knowing what you did. I like that you had Death twice, once large behind the easel and again in the portrait of him. For me, the overall effect is not as strong as it might be. The white lines around two sides of the painting are a bit distracting. I assume you put them in so that it would stand out against the background. The hour glass is a good addition. I guess the overall impression is very hazy to me; the "death" just doesn't stand out enough against the background. Also there is a bit of a disconnect between the bottom of "Death" and the cowl at the top when divided by the canvas. Sorry to be so negative about your usually great images, but even though it is appropriate for Halloween, it needs some more work, in my opinion. |

John,
It does look pretty realistic, but you have done a great job putting together the panorama. The addition of an IR filter and sky change gives it some oomph. You have done a lot of work on it, but I kind of like Alan's idea, but heaven forbid it should be Trump! Sorry my political opinion. |
