What a wonderful place to live, surrounded by wild country, or so it seems. I love the leading line of the steps, but I would consider cropping out the green thing on the left. This would also put the wheel thingee into a better position, rather than so centered. You are very lucky to be in the middle of nature. |

Beautiful nature image and story. The nest was built in the barn, supposedly, and thus it is not a problem with the hand of man. Creatures adopt to us. So sharp with a nice soft reflection in the eyes from the light not from a flash. Just a comment on your title. PSA allows cutsie titles for nature images, but many camera clubs do not. We would have said,
"Eastern phoebe chicks (maybe latin name) anticipate arrival of mother with food." |

Linda, I love the lighting on this and the placement in the frame. There is no question about what the center of interest is. It is bright, but that doesn't bother me because I don't feel that anything is blown out. You have a great black to white range in this monochrome. The simplicity of it works so well. |

George,
You were so lucky to have that family of foxes grow up. It's interesting that when the mother taught the guy above to hunt, he became more afraid on people. So the old lady taught fear, as well. Anyway, the photo is perfect, so sharp, on alert and a great background. Beautifully placed in frame and great catch lights in the eyes. I like his sharp teeth showing.
No worry about the wood he is standing on. Some judges might reject it, but it really fits into the extensive Nature definition concerning the hand of man. |

Sorry, I found it under Image>Adjustments. I was thinking of the Adjustment masks. |

I just tried to find HDR Toning among the adjustment layers in PS 2015.5 and it wasn't there. What version are you using? |

This is a very interesting and unusual concept. I admire your creativity in putting these two images together. Who wudda thought? The juxtaposition is excellent and the color blends between the two images work perfectly. I would suggest removing his shoulder (or part of his shoulder) so he blends into her even more. I don't know whether their clothing color was the same or you made it so, but that also works so well here. Really nice job. |

This has become a painting because of your choice of filters. I admire that you did such a good job of of removing the debris that was around the falls in the original. Everyone is telling me how good Lightroom is these days, but, alas, I have never learned it, having grown up, so to speak using Photoshop.
As for your images, I like the speed of the water, but maybe could use a little more space in the foreground for the falls to empty.
Nicely done. |

Barrie,
From the distance, it looks like a horse on a carousel with the pole. On closer inspection the laundry makes an interesting statement in its colors and use of the roof as a BG. Those tiles really help make this photo unique. I also like the way you filled in all of the outside colors as a yellow to match the laundry. Polar coordinates can make something very unusual, but it needs to be used correctly. I think you did a good job here. |

So much more exciting than the original. How about "Breaking Through the Tsunami" or "They Make 'Em Tough?" I really like this image. It even has a patriotic appeal. Your work with the paint brushes is top of the line. Did you ever check out "Miss Fisher Mysteries" on PBS? They use that technique throughout her intro.
Anyway, in your car above, I wouldn't change a thing. |
