I love your turtle. He has real character. I would have been interested to see the fake flippers, if possible, but he looks like he's enjoying himself doing those things a turtle likes to do. Very well focused on both the head and front flippers. Fills the frame nicely |

Rick,
This is a kick! Great work. I love the blue eyes on the bronze you photographed. Your production of the sphere was excellent. I particularly liked how you created the sphere look by adding a shadow. The rest of this remarkable composite is intriguing to say the least.
It has been difficult to create a realistic looking sphere in Photoshop. There was a third party program that did it really well, but it only works with CS5 or earlier. Wish I could remember the name.
Good job and very creative! |

Linda,
The composition is excellent; I like the symmetrical approach you used. However, I don't understand the way over the top over saturation. This would be so lovely in its normal colors. I can't quite achieve it but here is a version that is desaturated quite a bit. |

John, I really like what you did with this photo. Although you used layers of blurring and Painter to produce a more painterly subject, you did it in such a way that the players were emphasized, almost in a cocoon of reality amid the space of unreality. It makes a very colorful concept of a basketball game, especially with the ungainly stances of the two players, peak of action.

Barrie,
This is an excellent photo of the sway-backed building in Bodie, but I find that using a little posterization does not a creative image make. Maybe you could have it swooping off into the sky or put a dilapidated cow in the foreground. We really need to be a bit more creative as a group. Let's work on it a bit harder.
I also encourage the use of a creative title as part of the package. |

Your revision from the suggestion of Alan is much more in keeping with the creative principle that we hope to achieve here. That has interest, not a simple oil painting filter. One of our club members came up with the idea of showing an old, brown banana reflected in the mirror looking like a beautiful yellow banana with a caption something like "The Portrait of Dorian Banana." The PSA definition of "altered reality" was not really fulfilled because it looked real. Although it looked realistic, the concept was very creative. The judge didn't get it. So sad. |

I like the way you brought the three religions together. Clearly, a lot of work, but it was worth it. The sidewalk is interesting in and of itself because of the gaps and angles. Very surrealistic altogether. Is the man in the chair supposed to be Greek orthodox or Jewish? All under the auspices of Jesus. The "pope" is heading toward the rocker which was very well done, by the way, presumably because he is carrying a cane. The orange monks catch our eye immediately both because of their placement and color. The only thing that might have improved this would be to have the Pope looking at the approaching monks.
Great work! |
