An interesting view of a lot of texture, especially in the lower portion. I would crop the photo and eliminate the white portion in the upper left, then my eye would go right to the bottom portion which to me is the most interesting part of the photo. |

Very sharp focusing, it almost resembles a garden statue that I have seen in the garden stores! I also like the placement of it. |

I like the cropping but would try different different variations with either more or less of the grass at top or marsh at the bottom so that the birds are not just centered between the top and the bottom. Also, you might be able to bring a bit more texture into the water if you experiment with shadows/highlights.. |

I agree with the others that by darkening the background my eye would go right to the center subject. I would even consider cropping some off the left side including a little bit of the stump and also cropping a bit off the right. Then my eye would go right to the subject. |

I also have not tried this yet. Looks like a fun thing to do. I like how all of the background is dark and doesn't show any of the surrounding landscape. |
